“Opened the box all contents received, and the plane looks great as advertised. It impressed my wife, and all I can say is-Motion RC you did your job, with presenting a fine product. Five (5) stars!!”
“My first impressions are great. Very well designed scooter. The assembly took an hour.Plugging in the rx i have the throws I need with a few turns of the ball links to adjust the rudder and flaps to agree. Compair the 3 shortest pushrods flaps and rudder are so close easy to mix up.This is my first foam jet and am enjoying it so far.”
“This was my second A-4 from MRC. The plane is a great buy. Easy straight forward build and manual is better than most. This one showed up with the box corner damaged and the elevators had the corners crumpled really good. I took pictures of the box and stabilizer halves with elevator damage and sent to MRC via email. The very next day I received an email with a shipping notice that new stabilizer assembys were shipped. I had them 2 days later.Great company, quality products, and fantastic costumer service...”
“I have almost all of the 80 and 90mm jets from Motion RC. After buying an LX Models A4 I was reluctant to buy the Freewing A4. The LX A4 was a complete waste of money and time. On the other hand, this was one of the biggest pleasant surprises ever. This jet is amazing. It has adequate power and almost flies itself. Of all my jets, the Freewing F86 is the easiest to fly with over 250 flights , but this might just beat that record. This jet has no bad habits and by using the recommended settings it handles like a dream. Buy one and you won't be disappointed. One of my buddies at the air field bought his A4 and strongly suggested I get one. He assured me if I didn't like the quality or performance, he would purchase the plane from me . Its, that good!! So, put this on your short list and you won't be disappointed. The only gripe I have is the time consuming task of putting stickers on. You have the option of the Navy and Marine Stickers. Enjoy your next flight with this Jet!”
“Successfully flew my first two flights today. Beautiful plane with excellent flight characteristics. Kit assembly fairly straight forward. I added an AR636 receiver leftover from my E-Flite 1.2m Spitfire. Stock gains worked well.”
“Box arrived unblemished. Construction was straightforward and uneventful. Really enjoyed the waterslide decals. I used to build plastic models competitively and I've always found decaling therapeutic. A little Solva-Set softened them up just enough to snuggle down into the panel lines nicely. Balance was dead-on using a 6S 5200 35C full forward. Maiden was enjoyable and uneventful although I needed to remove an extra 15% aileron travel (after originally setting up with 2/3 recommended travel) at all rate settings. Flies rock-solid and grooves on approach better than any edf I've flown. 150' takeoff roll in 1.5 thick South Carolina Bermuda with very little thatch sucked into the fan. Gear and stock tires completely adequate for conditions. Flew total of six flights in varying configurations and wing loadouts and noticed very little difference in performance, CG or flight times which averaged 3.5 minutes at 80 to 90% throttle with 3.75/cell remaining. I feel confident that with better power management 4 to 4.5 minutes is quite possible. Having said that, the smile was still glued to my face long after the ride home. Best $329 I've spent in the hobby in a long time and with the top-notch service I've come to expect from Motion, I'm sure to be buying all my edf needs from them for years to come. Thanks again MRC for a wonderful experience!”
“Looks great and appears to be well built. 80 mm is my favorite size EDF. The recommended elevator and aileron throws were too much for my taste. I ended up cutting these throws back about 25% and still have plenty of authority. About 20% expo also helps. The plane rocks a good bit in the roll axis. I don't normally use gyros, but for this plane I installed the A3-L after the first flight. I have been landing the plane with half flaps and still don't quite have a feel for flaring this plane. Not sure why, but when flaring this plane 6 or so off the ground you have to be very careful as it will nose up very quickly. Maybe this plane is still a bit tail heavy even with the 5000 mAh 6s installed all the way forward?”
“I have enjoyed flying the Freewing A-4 and enjoy having this airplane in my fleet. My main reservations are I wish that they would have designed this plane with external lights, landing gear doors, speed brakes, and deployable leading edge slats as does the T-45 that they make. I would gladly pay more for those features. I, too, would love to see future planes like the F-4, F-105, Cougar, Panther, etc., but for me, I would want them to be made more in the vein of the T-45, F-14, and F-15 added detail items that will knock them out of the park!”
