Freewing A-4E/F Skyhawk High Performance 80mm EDF Jet - PNP Reviews

4.8 Rating 172 Reviews
This model exceeds anything I have bought from Motion RC, The detail is very nice and an easy build. I am always watching the build videos but this one was missing something, It could have been done better compared to other videos. I base rather I will buy a plane upon build videos and reviews. One thing this plane lacks is better information on the battery placement. They designed it built and flew it how about some tips on battery placement! all help is needed to be successful. Do you balance right side up or up side down with gear retracted? control arms could have been a little longer. Help out the newer guys here. I have not flown yet because don't have battery, Kick some tires and lite some fires the bad ass VA-22 fighting Red cocks will rock your world. The famous Muclusky award winner Pensacola Florida aviation hall of fame. Best fighter squadron out of 52 light and medium attack squadron's in the united states Navy.

I can't yet comment on the flight characteristics yet because I'm having Pilot Ryan and Captain Mike perform the maiden at our “Warbirds over Grapevine” event on October 7th. www.114thrc.orgI can comment on the quality and ease of build. Guys, this is really nice foam. Gorgeous finish. The protective packaging is highly engineered and the unboxing is a non event. Assembly is a breeze. I first studied Captain Mike's video and I highly recommend viewing it especially if you plan to add nerf whistles. The manual is very straight forward. There is very little gluing involved. The aft fuse section, pair of machine guns, the refueling probe, parachute pack and tail hook. The supplied contact cement is of high quality and there's an ample supply provided. The nose piece is magnetic as is the hump. The wings and tail section are screwed on. Make sure to dry fit the vertical stab for proper alignment. Setup could not be more straightforward. You simple connect the rods and keepers and make your mechanical adjustments accordingly. I understand the recommended throws are still a bit too liberal, especially the ailerons. Check the threads on Hobby Squawk and RCG before flying. Same with CG. The recommended 195mm might be slightly on the tail heavy side. Again, follow the discussions on the Squawk and on RCG. The supplied AGM-82 missiles and large drop tanks are a nice addition. The drop tanks are huge ! They may not stay on with grass field ops.I'll probably fly her with just the missles anyway. I've already added waterslide decals on the AGM's that Pat ( crxmanpat) offers. I did cycle the gear and all looks up to snuff. I especially like the nose gear strut. Very sturdy. Looks like another winner! The hits keep lon rolling!Stay tuned for an upcoming video from Pilot Ryan and Captain Mike !

The most scale A4 I have seen. I flew the real A4E for over 38 bombing mission in Vietnam over 51 years ago during my younger life. I am almost ready to fly mine. I will let you know how she performs compared the real A4...LT. RichHewgley, Naval Aviator, VA-153 Blue Tail Flied!!!

The delivery was as always on time and un-damaged. The plane went together great. A couple of notes, paint the bottom of the elevator mounts on the rudder before you install the rudder. And install the elevator itself before you install the rudder on the fuselage. I balanced the plane to the updated position and it flew great. Just remember that a slow tight turn is not your friend. In that scenario it may/will fall out of the turn with an accelerated stall. Other than that it's a great plane with only that one bad habit. Have fun. Great job MRC.

The assemble is straight forward— fly very well in spite of wing area. The 80mm fan seems to suite the A4 well. Topnoch for Motion and Freewing. Charlie B

Very nice kit, every part fit very good and it looks great. Had to tone down all the flight controls even more than the recommended low rates, now it tracks better and lands great, added some nose weight too, it likes to be nose heavy and flies much better this way. Was surprised also how fast it is even with it all loaded up, it actually flies more stable with the weapons attached.
