“I am evaluating both of the T-33s I have owned. The first one came to me used in excellent condition. It flew great and was my introduction to this size of ducted fan. I liked it very much. So much so that when I crashed it due to pilot error I purchased a second one. The model went together easy and set up with an expert friends help easy. Both models were the silver paint scheme. Sadly, I lost the second one on the maiden flight. Why? Well I took off on a day when the sky was a mottled gray. Never saw it again until a friend it 3 miles away. I really like this jet. It has great flight characteristics and I found it comfortable to fly. Just as soon as the model is released in the Thunderbird colors or a Navy Training scheme I will have it on order. I have old eyes and so lost it in the gray gunk that was the sky that day. Live and learn.”

“For context, I've flown glow and electric planes since I was 10 years old in 2009. I got into EDFs in 2013 at 14. It was either a fighter with a heavy gross weight or a lightweight sport jet. They all had inherent instability that makes them not great at beginner jets, so I never had good luck with them and always eventually crashed.
Ever since I got the T-33, it's been an amazing beginner jet with great stability that doesn't even need a gyro to fly (Of course, the full-scale jet was meant to be a beginner-level trainer jet anyways, has stability designed into the airframe). Beautiful in the air, sounds amazing with power, and is able to do everything you want as someone who is interested in jets and wants to do just about everything a jet does (going fast and basic maneuvers) but at a level that a novice with jets can take on without the intimidation of high performance airframes that need gyros and attention-to-detail on configuration.
My only beef with it is that my nose gear retract went out on my third flight and have to keep powercycling to get it to eventually work until I can afford the replacement.”

“A Exciting performer in every sense. Rolls, loops inside, outside out what a blast to fly. Stable with no Bad habit's. Just a few trims and rock solid performances.”

“I have flown this plane for several years. I’ve only had a couple problems. First, within the first month on separate occasions, I ripped both main landing out of the wing. These were easily reglued and I have had no problems since. Our field enjoys both hard surface and grass facilities. Two years ago, our club decided to improve the grass area, which is now much more lush and free of ant hills. But, now when freshly mowed, I learned unfortunately yesterday there is much more loose, cut grass, lying, or embedded in the surface. My first two flights were on the hard surface owing to the wind direction. At the time of my third flight the wind had picked up a little and was now in yearly 180° from the first two. This meant I had to takeoff on the grass to allow adequate rollout. I advanced the throttle plane gained speed, then appeared to lose speed just as it lifted off the ground and stalled. Upon examination I found the entire intake on the underwing surface was full of cut grass starving the EDF of the extra air needed. So at full throttle, it was losing speed. JUST A CAUTION TO OTHERS FLYING OFF GRASS FIELDS!”
