This upgraded nose strut is better than the stock one in that it will help prevent the rearward force from being applied to the retract. Problem is, when the strut does compress past 50%, it crashes into the rear NG door, causing the door to jam the wheel and causing braking... that is until something gives. You have 2 options:- Reduce compression to 50% (I used a rubber tube over the piston rod).- Cut off the rear door so it clears the wheel on full compression.Note that, like most gear of this design, the compression force reduces somewhat as it compresses. My wheel crashed into the door when I 1st started taxing and went into a slight depression. No damage as I was going so slow.If I had it to do over, I would still buy it. I fly off grass. I had to dock a star for this oversight.

Design and qualitiy of this gear is excellent! Shipping was fast as usual. Great to have landing gear options for my planes.

I fly almost exclusively from pavement so haven't installed mine yet (I'm more interested in the oleo mains when they come out) but thought it might be nice to have a photo or two for people interested in one.Appears to be of good Freewing quality and I may put it to use in something else.

This front gear is great. Haven't flown with it yet but it looks and functions good! I had to trip a bit of foam so it didn't catch on the way in.
