“On maiden flight elevator felt mushy went to high rate on elevator got Plane all trimmed out and flew 2 laps then added half flap Everything ok added full flap made 180 degree turn after completing turn level wings and plane took about a 30 degee angle down applied full elevator plane stayed at same attitude went into ground . ????? Heard through grapevine another F-18 maiden went the same way except he did not have flaps deployed.”

“The Blue Angel F/A-18 is a beautiful jet and FreeWings rendering does it justice. The design, engineering and production are excellent. I found no quality issues. Though I bought the PnP I put a Jetfan/ Het 1680 8S set up in it and it does not disappoint. Flight performance is simply awesome. I also bypassed many functions from the MCBe directly to the receiver so I could program, full span flaps, tailerons, crow and rudder air brakes. All work excellent on this aircraft. It is the best all around 90mm EDF available, on par with the L-39 which I consider the best all around 80mm scale EDF. It's a great match to my repainted FW F-4.About the only improvement I can think of would be to line the cockpit and seat back with a heat resistant plastic to reduce gatoring in the cockpit and to make the instrument console plastic cover more heat resistant.”
“The F-18, in my opinion is the finest of the assortment of EDF's offered by MRC. I've experience non of the problems discussed on the squawk.I normally fly in Phoenix (ASL 1342) but this summer I'm in Utah (ASL 4250/DA 7520. Take off run is longer, and landing sink rate needs a bit more power, but I've traded the 6K battery to old trusted 5K, lowering the overall weight for slightly more time in the air. Truly a wonderful airframe and unsurpassed by presence in the air after all it's a Blue Angel !!”
