“The scale on this is unbelievable and very scale. I have applied the few decals that it requires that you need to do to complete and am in the process of clear paying with a high gloss sealant to give it a more realistic scale look. Still need to balance, and adjust the throws on the ailerons, but all else is set up and works as expected. Can’t wait to maiden this and show it off!! Motion RC hit this one out of the park and hope that they continue to bring us high quality products like this with new models and options for years to come!! Great job MRC!!!”

“First let me say I buy a lot of FreeWing planes and I buy a lot from Motion. There is a very good reason, excellent products with excellent support.The new F-18 is beautiful. It flies well too, it grooves. Simply there are no design issues with this plane. As noted pushrod lengths in the manual are wrong and my motor came disconnected too. To me these are not even worth mentioning.I like fast and with a Jet Fan 8S setup it is. I also like to play with wing and tail formats so each servo got its own channel on a 12ch receiver. Full span flaps, tailerons, crow and rudder airbrakes add to the flexibility and fun.Well done FreeWing and Motion!”

“I would have given it a 5 star if it was not for couple of issues, bad servo for the flap which Motion RC sent me a replacement servo right away. User manual needs to be improved with better and accurate guidelines for setting horizontal tail (recommend setting too much down) and flap position. Other that that new F/A-18 90mm is an awesome jet. Flew it last week with a 5000 mAh admiral battery, 3 minutes and 15 seconds fight time. Very stable jet, slows down quite nicely for landing, don't even need the flaps. Landing gears held up great after 4 flights on grass field. Ground appearance is fantastic, I painted my landing gears blue, did not like the white color. Have been waiting for a F/A-18 jet in Blue Angels colors for a long time, thank you Freewing and Motion RC.”

“As previous reviewer Erik stated, there are indeed some QC issues. I too found, after 15 minutes of trying to bind and arm the ESC, that the motor was not connected to the ESC. This required complete removal of the fan unit to plug in the wires. Also, I noted the inconsistency of the connecting rod lengths indicated in the manual, and you can see the same issue when you watch the build video done by Motion. That was minor, as I just fit the rods by trial and error. But the most significant issue turned out to be a defective nose wheel steering servo. It was completely jittery and burning hot to the touch as soon as I bound the receiver to my transmitter. Fortunately, I had an identical 9g servo in my shop, so I replaced it with that one. I haven't flown this plane yet, but will by end of the week. Everything else was excellent insofar as fit and finish. I added some high gloss Minwax and she really looks like a Blue Angel now! Other customers, please be aware of these issues. Being prepared will save you some time and frustration.”
