“The parcel arrived at home (France) in perfect condition after having been stuck for a while at the French customs. I've been requested to pay about 120 euros taxes to get the bird finally shipped to me. Although I'd like very much to continue business with MotionRC because of you're very good quality products, service and review, I can't afford to pay more than 30% additional taxes on my orders so, unless you find a solution to this, this great p-38 might become my first and last order. I'm really sorry about that because I still have the feeling you're offering a great line of electric warbirds so, keep doing so and try to find a cheap option for overseas shipments.”
“The only quality scale p38 ever offered by far. With two admiral 4S,3000 I added 3. ounces al the way in front of the two batteries and it flies very solid. taking off and landing I just used one landing setting for flaps and it takes offs very easily off the ground very easy . balance the props ...with the aluminum landing gear installed is has some give and also used foams to give more cushioning for the 7LB weight add a small metal wash under the back of each retract main and it will accept 3in tires dave browns or 3in or 3./14 and looks way more scale . 4 minutes is safe with the two 3000, . landing is easy and use rudder coronation like a pattern plane .. all around excellent product and excellent customer service A+++ will buy a second one”
“I had written a review with a rating of one star because I never even got my P-38 in the air before a servo failed and I could not even buy a replacement. I am hear to say I am a motion rc buyer for life. The vcustomer service individual contacted me and sent me two digital servos to fix my plane, because they did not have the factory servos in stock and did not know when they would be in. The servos were received in about three days when I was thinking it may not even happen. This is personally the best customer I have experienced in the rc business. I am not a big foam model person, but I am sure when I buy one it will be from motion rc. Thanks to the dedicated customer service people at the company. By the way I already buy almost all my LiPo batteries here as well. They have been excellent batteries.”
“Maddened it the other day. Plane fly's great however even with the CG right on I had to put in almost ¼ inch of up elevator (like you said in your build video) to make it fly level. After investigating this problem I found that the ¼ inch up is not really up in relation to the stab. With this setting the elevator and stab are in perfect alignment! The reason it looks so far up is the elevator does not align with the booms! I think the booms were not molded correctly to line up with the stab. I lucked out with the other problem. After a fine madden flight I made a very smooth landing. No bounces! (That is where its heavy weigh comes in) However after landing and taxing back and to the pits, I notice the plane was listing to starboard. When I picked it up to see why, one of the main gears fell off! I found that the plastic mount to which the gear is screwed to was only glued to the foam wing with two tiny spots of weak glue! Fortunately there was no other damage to the plane. I checked the other main gear and although it was still attached it was weak. I have subsequently removed both main gear assembles and properly glued them back with a very strong glue. The nose gear seems to be OK. I believe that both of these problems are dew to poor quality control at the factory. An otherwise high quality model like this P-38 should have better quality control at the factory. Norm”
“I would say it is a great plane but have never flown it. Built the plane, checked it out on the bench, but when I went to the flight line to make the first flight one of the aileron servos failed. I have been wait two months for a replacement and I did not even ask them to send it free. Not impressed with quality of components and more so with the ability to get replacement parts. Hope all this is worth it once I get to fly it or it will be my first and last plane from this company. Will change score if I ever get to fly it soon.”
“Hello, Very impressive. Just finished it last night with the exception of a few minor details. Your you tube video helped a great deal. Enclosed kit instructions were almost useless. Look forward to continuing my E-flight apprentice training this spring and hopefully flying my Warbird late summer, just need a transmitter and receiver. Thanks, Don”
