“Very impressed with the fit and assembly of the plane. A very solid aircraft.I have just 9 flights logged on it. But within a couple minutes during the maiden, felt very confident flying her because of how solid and smooth it was in the air. Most of my landings have been on a minor rough grass area at the field. Stock retracts handling it very well.Build video is a great tool in assembly. This plane is a must have for every hanger. You will not be disappointed!”
“I give it 4 stars for cosmetic reasons. There were areas of blobsand dents in the foam, as well as, several long hairs incorporated into the paint on the wing. I chose the Battle Axe format and unfortunately, the 12als that goes below the black part of the canopy and extends back under the wing, was only for the left side. I had a mirror image file made and sent to Callie to make me up the right side. Otherwise, it went together nicely, and the maiden this morning from a short grass field was uneventful---straight, level takeoff at just over half throttle. Using Zippy Compact 2700 4S batteries.”
“I finally completed the assembly, which was fairly easy compared to the FMS P-38. There are some blemishes on the right wing where someone repaired it and did a poor job with the painting. I can fix this with re-painting. The overall quality is excellent and all parts fit as one would hope. I hope to maiden this weekend if it is not raining. I changed the tires and will use the Admiral 2500 4-cell Pro batteries. Will review again after the maiden. Thanks Motion for this one.”
“i will say it built very well and instructions have been the best yet .12al sets require some study to get them right just wish they included some with U.S A F. for this . cant wait to test it out and hook all connections up .it is an expertly constructed and well built plane in general and i am sure it will be a real handful to fly .it is one monster sized plane so be prepared . if you are a true fan of the P-38 Lightning i think you will be very happy with this plane .i did not even doubt this from the start and can only say i am now the proud owner of one . enjoy one for your self .”
“This is without a doubt the finest P-38 on the market. A remarkable achievement considering it was the first 1400mm from Flightline. The plane went together with no issues other than a missing screw and control rod. both items replaced from my parts bin.All components work flawlessly. The plane performs beautifully and looks great on the fly bys.My only complaint is the cosmetic gatoring of the foam. I've been assured by Motion that they are working on this problem. I'm sure progress will be made to improve the foam in future production runs.”
“I found the flap servo's straight up when they should have been towards the flaps more. That caused having to use a lot of sub trim in order to connect the wires to the horns. The wiring from the wing joint could have been two inches longer. The distribution box markings were not clear and I jade to experiment with hookups in order to get lights to work properly. All in all I love this plane and can't wait to test it. Note: check your battery(s) for balance. One of my friends didn't and totaled his new P-38.”
“I have been hoping for a big P-38 ever since FMS stopped making there P-38. The new Flightline is almost perfect however the finish could be better. There where missing screws and the wiring diagram was wrong but it is a good start, thanks to Motion things where made wright. I would like to see a P-39 around 1450mm would be nice. All and all very good!”
“This is a foam model airplane of an iconic WWII fighter. It is a great value as it has a lot in the box, twin motors, ESCs, aileron, elevator, rudder and four flap servos, electric retracts with servo actuated gear doors. From 5 feet away it is awesome looking. It flys pretty good too.Totally not Motions fault the quality has some areas that could be improved on but as is at the price point it has it is an exceptional value. If you like WWII war birds, electric and easy assembly it is a must have.”
