“LOVE this plane, I'm fussy and she came with a very rough texture so wesand and paint. What a beautiful scale looking plane, flys as good as she looks. Did mod the landing gear as well, fun plane to mess with . Takes up some sky and runway as she is heavy but reallt does not fly that way. If you have a bit of experiance this plane is awesome. -1 for the finish the rest is 5 stars”
“I bought the Green and Gray during the first preorder. I received it early enough to to get about 10 flights in before an event at Apollo field in Van Nuys CA. The plan has gone to the field every trip since. I've got approximately 30 flights on it now and it has become my favorite plane to fly espically in winds 10 mph and up.With regards to the CG and up trim discussions. I balanced it as per the instructions and I'm flying 2x4X 3000ma batteries. What I found is that without the drop tanks, the plane flys with neutral elevator. With the drop tanks, it takes about 6 clicks of up trim (DX18).It's a great scale flyer, does very nice large maneuvers, and is a real eye catcher at the field.The only mods I did were:* Upgraded the tires* Modified the wheel on the front to be spokes on both sides* Added a thin stretchy black plastic line from the twin tails to the radio compartment* Painted the servos so they blend in betterI've still got other mods to do but for right now, I'd rather fly.”
“Where to start on this P-38?The airframe itself is laid out very well. The Size is just right for most car's, trucks, and vans to get to your flying field, even a small car can carry it to the field with the outer wings removed. The model looks real good in flight. However on the ground is where I take a few stars off.1. The gator foam skin of this P-38 is real bad( Not all the kits have this, mine is one that has it bad)2. Landing gear stock struts, look silly3. Wheels also look silly4. alignment of the outer rear inter side wings don't match up well. ( Not all the kits have this one)What I'm starting to see with all the China aircraft makers is this. They say they are making their aircraft with much better quality parts and the price keeps going up on all kits. While I'm seeing about the same in quality where it may work or not or outright QC is just not there. I think FlightLineRC (FreeWing) dropped the ball on this kit, could of been a real outstanding aircraft. You can see this P-38 is a winner, fly's well but for the price it should of been right out of the box and not a few but all kits.......I'm keeping mine even with the gator skin. Just forced to glass the wing to get rid of that gator skin. I've not put my P-38 together yet but I can see the video's and know it really fly's well. I hope FlightLineRC can change my 3 star to a five star soon!!!!!”
“Maiden my p-38 yesterday ,I don't think this is close to 81 mph as advertised. Running two 4s 3200 30c seems very slow stock setup.would have liked to see a stock setup on the video. under wing tape for servo leads curls up will have to replace. I LIKE THE PLANE. But disappointed in speed and and lethargic maneuvers.”
