“My experience with putting together the P-38L 1600mm kit went well, A few bugs as some of these mentioned below from others. Overall, was a positive experience.In regards to the horns coming loose, even during assembly. I cut a strip of plastic and glued this strip over the Elevator horn and both Aileron horns, this will eliminate future issues with horns coming loose during flight. Didn’t place plastic strips on both rudder horns, if one was to come loose the other rudder will still provide enough movement to control tail. Thought I’d pass this tip along, happy flights everyone and enjoy this terrific P-38L Lightning 1600mm plane.”

“Assembling the P-38L Lightning 63mm was easy, assembly manual was good but needs additional information, easy to figure out but not a recommended model for beginner. Overall, my best Flightline model I’ve put together. And I’ve put together several. Price was fair, Detail is extremely good. Will not hesitate to order from Motion RC again, Always a terrific translation.”

“Just finished building this lightning. Everything went ok except for the wiring. Not enough room to work on the wires. Most of the wires came up short. So I had to install 3 in extensions just to cram everything back into the rear compartment. Not my kind of fit and finish. All this and no place to mount a receiver. I had to hot glue my receiver on to inside rear ledge. I was concerned about running the antenna wire, but this didn’t seem to be an issue when I range checked.I’m concerned about flying this plane. I’ve seen some bad crashes involving the elevator horn pulling out of the elevator. Anyone have a work around, or how to brace up this control?”

“This is easily the best foam p-38 on the market to date! The design and overall attention to detail is simply amazing! The assembly for this model is a bit more robust than a normal 5 channel plug and play plane, but there are also some good videos on Youtube to walk through assembly in addition to the instructions. As it is, the lightning looks good enough to be a display model. Haven't had weather good enough to fly it lately, but it's a great model to have in the collection.”

“Since there was only 5 in stock, I decided to get one. I have a 57 P-38 that fly's great. No support for that one, so got this one. Might put it together next winter. Only a 30 day return so checked for damages and was satisfied. Great looking plane”
