“Initial use of this Hasegawa cutting board was SO different than ANY wood variant I've used. The feel as you slice/drag a Shun blade across the surface is immediately different than other boards. It was worth the wait to catch a sale and enjoy what Japanese sushi chefs crave to protect thier valued tools.”

“I have only had this board for a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to its durability, but it instantly became my favorite cutting board. I have a very nice end-grain walnut board and a large hinoki board, both from the highest ranked brands, so the competition was very strong. I like my Hasegawa so much that I am considering getting a larger one to replace my hinoki board. The cutting experience is that much better. I thought is was all about the knife--I didn't think that the board could make such a difference. (And I have some very nice knives.) Highly recommended.”
