I ordered wood core cutting board. It looks like hope plastic core. It could be wood inside but it’s unclear. I assume this allows it to be put in dishwasher? Perhaps I didn’t read any papers that came with it but if I can find the weights on your site I could confirm what it is. The board is stippled rubber and never dries (even in arid Colorado) without a wipe down. As far as performance or suitability, I haven’t cut any meat since I got it and am traveling a bit right now. I’m sure it will protect my Shun knives fine.

Recently purchased high quality, carbon steel Japanese knives. This cutting board is a small investment to maintain the integrity of these knives. Super pleased with this board, I got rid of all other cutting boards. 2 thumbs up.

great material for a cutting board, love that it has a slightly textured surface, and the weight of the board is fantastic. some boards weigh too damn much

I own a large accortment of cutting boards. Hasegawa, Asahi, High Soft, etc. I bought each of our three children a set of Japanese knives for their birthdays and I chose the Hasegawa Cutting Boards to give to each of our children along with their knife sets. They're great cutting boards and they really protect the edges of really good quality knives.

Perfect size cutting board to replace an old plastic one that I had been using for far too long. So far the surface performs well, gripping onto whatever it is I am cutting. Likes so much that I purchased both the soft and hard versions of the cutting board.
