“My dog is a rescue and arrived to me very anxious. She has a lot of separation anxiety and also likes to yell a lot at anything in the garden, people walking past, anything that makes noise and she HATES storms and thunder.
I was excited to try this product as I have tried training, prescribed medication and calming treats and nothing has seemed to help her. Unfortunately this product has not seemed to have much of an impact on her behaviour either.
Things I like about the diffuser
- no discernable scent created by it
- subtle and unnoticeable in the home environment
- lasts a decent amount of time
Things I didnt like
- no discernable impact on my dogs behaviour
- quite expensive
Maybe over time this may cause more of an impact, Ive only been using it for about 2 weeks, and I have not been able to see how she is in a storm yet as we havent had any. I have seen in other reviews that people saw results quite quickly so maybe my dog is just not right for it!

“Tried this product with our beagle cavalier who experiences separation anxiety and is prone to bark at noises on the street at night. Set it up near her bed and after a few nights was surprised to find her looking very relaxed in the mornings. The barking has reduced and she now takes herself to bed each night. “My dog is often anxious when I leave the house, meaning that I am then worrying about my dog all day! This was a great product that works that is also safe and ethical to use. My dog was a lot less anxious and I could see the very real calming effect it had. Super easy to use, and I also checked with my vet who gave it two thumbs up as safe.

“Both of my dogs (aged 6 and 7) have anxiety and have been prescribed medication in the past. One of them still takes daily anti-anxiety medication and situational medication for events like storms. Being able to use the plug in during times of peaked anxiety such as storms or when we have visitors and the dogs prefer to be in their room or in our bedroom, has been really helpful. Usually during storms my dog with higher anxiety levels who is still on medication, wont eat or do anything but hide under a bed or will tuck himself into a tight corner. During a recent storm I trialed not giving him his situational medication and had the plug in going for an hour or so before the storm hit and throughout. He was definitely calmer than he normally is without his medication and even ate his dinner during the storm, which is something he would not normally do. They have both appeared generally a bit calmer when the plug in is in use. It hasnt been a complete solution to the anxiety but I can definitely see some small improvements when in use. I was gifted a product sample to trial and review. I would absolutely consider adding it to my toolkit of ways to manage my dogs anxiety in the future.”
“Weve been using this for 4 weeks now for our 11 month old cavoodle who has bad separation anxiety. Normally, he would follow us from room to room, and be a ball of crazy upon our return home if we left him even for 5 minutes or if I go out the front to collect the mail. Since using Adaptil Calm, we have noticed that if he is sleeping or relaxing, he doesnt follow us from room to room now, and doesnt get as anxious when we leave or as over the top when we return. Honestly, if this product does work however, for the gain, I am not sure the investment of $60+ per month is in our budget or worthwhile. I think if we were both working at the office full time we would definitely sign up for a monthly subscription but for now, I think we may not be able to place financial priority on this as we are home with him a lot so its not the end of the world. When and if this changes, we would definitely reconsider the investment for our dogs happiness.”
“Our 12-week-old puppy is completely ADHD and so full of energy so was looking forward to trying this product. We saw a slight improvement but nothing drastic, could have just been her getting more comfortable in our home environment. She wasnt bothered by the plug in and there isnt a smell or anything that would draw attention to the device if you didnt know it was there. Will keep using it to see if there is more of an improvement over time. Anything is better than nothing. It was very easy to use and set up. I was gifted a product sample to trial and review.”
