“In our kitchen makeover we choose a deep solid-surface sink, and a Waste King garbage disposal. This dropped the drain connection around 3 inches lower than before for the P-trap. No luck with finding a solution to hook up the drain from local Lowes and Home Depot, and even a specialty plumbing store. But this part did the trick in the reversed J-bend configuration. Just had to trim a disposal elbow (7 inch from Lowes) to match the height of the J-bend. Easy to connect without tools, solid, and leak-tight.”
“This kit came with everything needed to install a new sink drain. But you still need to buy the sink tailpiece separately since its length depends on your sink height, etc. Everything went together easily, no missing or bad parts - all good.”
“This P-Trap solved my problem - when I installed a deeper sink my garbage disposal sat lower than before. Since the outlet was now slighly above the level of the drain, a normal p-trap would not work. My local sources did not have this option, but plumbingsupplyandmore came to the rescue again!I ordered it and was pleased to find it provided a perfect watertight fit. The true blue washers are far superior to the usual plastic washers found in this type of plumbing, so I am confident that these fitting will hold up over time. One word of advice - as others have mentioned, the sleeve on the lower side of the p-trap is not very long, so your downpipe must be trimmed perfectly straight. If the downpipe is cut at an angle (like my original one - thanks to my builder!), it will probably leak and you must replace it. I did have to purchase a replacement outlet pipe for my garbage disposal, but with the right length and a straight cut everything worked great.Highly recommended!”
“It is reversible, but when reversed, the tail piece going into the u trap is only about 5/8. It is not a secure connection.I am keeping it just in case, because my parents house have a drain connection at the wall that is higher and it was difficult to find a new pop-up control part that would fit.I also am not sure how well the water will drain through. I am guessing that more debris will remain at the bottom, because of the taller u to tail connection.I really like the universal joint between the U and the tail. Cheaper traps have bevel forms which need extra tightening and even then sometimes leak. This trap actually uses a rubber seal. First time I could hand tightening this joint.”
“I had a leak from my p-trap, tried a different brand and still had the leak. I took it back and ordered this one, made sure all the connections had a smooth surface, no more leak.”
“I recently replaced my kitchen disposal. Everything went fine until I hooked it up to the old P-trap. No matter how I aligned and tightened the trap components, I couldn't stop this slow leak. I figured it must be due to the nylon washers that hardened over time. The "True Blue" washers that come with this kit are made from a more pliable polyethylene compound. I installed the new trap, hand-tightened the joints and turned on the water. A perfect no-drip seal the first time. Amazing how an inexpensive part can sometimes alleviate a great deal of frustration!”
