“Easy to install. I’ve had a couple “surprise” breakdowns of my sump pump, one of which caused flooding. This device keeps track of the effectiveness of the emptying of the sump well and informs me if I lose power, main sump function, or wifi signal. Informs me if the well is filling faster than it can empty. Informs me if there’s a danger of the well or pipe freezing. If you need assistance monitoring your sump device, this is the one for you. Informs you anywhere you have a cell or wifi signal to your mobile device. You don’t need to be home! (Like with a traditional water sensor…). Which, by the way, this has as well to inform you if water is escaping from the sump well.”
“This monitor provides great information about the operation of the sump pump - once it observes and learns the operating cycle and water levels over the course of multiple cycles. You may want to disable the notifications for the first day after installation if the pump is running frequently. If the pump is not running frequently or the sump is dry, be advised the first time it does cycle, the monitor may think everything has failed and send multiple failure notifications to your phone. Moen could definitely do a better job informing users of this potentially happening. The application uses the physical dimensions of the sump to calculate water volume and inflow/outflow rates. If you have a FLO whole house water monitor, the app can link to your FLO account and provides the same or similar functions as the FLO app. However, the update cycle between the two systems is a bit sketchy so you will want to keep the FLO app.All in, worth the money - especially if you already have the FLO water monitor.”
“The app and connection really let this device down, as it has some nice features that could set it a part. I hope that future firmware updates and app improvements can really make this shine, because the hardware itself seems to be fine. Improve consistency and reliability and this would be great.”
“I was excited for this product especially being backed by a well known plumbing outfit. Unfortunately they may be best to stick with core plumbing and not technology.Pros:-App was easy to install on Android-All parts were included-Unit synced to phone and app on first try-Monitoring works really well; More specifically pushing alerts.--Bonus points for actually CALLING my phone on an alert. Usually this is a paid product, I was impressed it was included.-The added water sensor for outside the sump pit/crock was great-9v Battery BackupCons:-Unreliable sensor (More in my write up)-Stock notifications are TOO noisy (Push notification, email, AND phone call?)-No re-arm notification; Ex: Sensor is now available or Water level normal-All figures are estimates and not scientific. The 'Gallons pumped' varied widely, even though the sump pump work at a specific high water level and stops at a specific low water level. The amount should be the same every time?More explanation: I run a Home Assistant system and know that Moen Flo was integrated. You would think this is the same, right? Unfortunately it is not, it has a separate app, separate product, and has no HASSIO integration. That was my first bummer.Second the install was easy, but after testing the unit by dumping water, and sealing my sump pit (Also used as Radon suction, so hard to access for me) I got an alert saying the sensor was blocked. I ripped the system back out and it was completely clean. Temp installed, it worked great. Sealed it back up, same thing. I modified the sump pit lid for an access port for my convenience. The unit was not blocked, but my pit has an extra tube (Not shown) and the sensor arm is not long enough to dodge all obstacles. I had to reposition it three times in order for it to stop saying it was blocked. The water level in my pit was about 50% when I installed. This threw off the sensor wildly. The third time I installed I started with a low water mark level and calibrated the sensor to that. This seems to work, so my suggestion is to add water until the sump runs/stops and then calibrate. Note: You can only calibrate on install or if you select 'Change equipment'. I would love a standalone calibration. All in all is this worth the cost? If you wanted leak notification, semi water level sensing, and something to alarm and your pit is easily accessible, maybe. Wanting it to integrate with your smart home and set it and forget it and have accuracy, more than likely not.Update 9/20/2022: For some random reason it cut off from my wifi. The instructions in the app were not complete and there is not a reset pin on my unit. I had to remove it from wall power, remove the 9v battery, then plug it back in and re-pair it to my wifi. Man this thing...”
“Incredibly easy to install. Thus far no false alarms and the monitor is functioning well. I do wish it have native Google assistant and Alexa integration as the ask Moen way is archaic. Also credit to the app designer as the step by step instructions were the best I've ever seen for a smart home product.”
“This device actively monitors a sump pump that you've previously installed. The sensors detect water level data, how long the pump has been running ... and it even has an "external" (but wired) little water sensor to detect for leaks. All in all, it was easy to install this product and set up the app. To date, I haven't received any alerts, and that's what offers peace of mind!”
“We tend to get a lot of water and we worry a lot about if our sump pump is working properly. This puts that information at our finger tips.Without this device, we had no idea how often it was running and how much water was getting pushed out.The only slightly annoying thing about this is that it tends to loose internet connection but it does seem to reconnect without intervention within the minute. I wish there was an option to have a longer Wi-Fi/power outage response time. 90 seconds is still about 30 seconds too short.I really like that it updates automatically without me having to do anything. The ability to have a primary pump and backup pump information stored is very nice.We currently only have a primary pump but have considered installing a backup pump next time we need to.With this app we have the information we need to make that decision on if we need more than one pump.We installed this monitor near the end of March. For those last 10 or so days, we had 552.77 gallons of water pumped out.April was only 25.09 gallons.May is almost over and we have had 3,242.23 gallons so far.The data is easy to read and understand.”
