“I was really looking forward to using this Moen monitoring system. It seems far better than my current system where the monitor has been impossible to connect to my network. This system looks similar to my current Myers system, but unlike the Myers system, it doesn't seem to require hooking up networking cables.I will need to hire someone to install this system though. First, my sump pump cover is affixed to the ground. Second, my current system was professionally installed and I want the monitor installed my an expert. My nightmare is doing something incorrectly and having an issue if there's a flood. I will update this review once I've been able to install it. Just be aware that you might need to hire someone with installation before buying this product.”
“My sump pump is in a crawl space - difficult to access, dark and dirty, and with the basin in a remote corner. So failures with it have surprised me before. Two years ago, for example, the check valve had cracked open, and anytime the pump ran all it did was spew water all over the crawl space walls, damaging the insulation. I don't know how long it was doing that before I noticed the sound of the pump continually cycling as the water made its way back into the basin. So this monitoring system was immediately appealing. It not only monitors how often the pump runs, estimating flows rates and pump health, it also keeps an eye on the basin water level itself. Beyond that, it includes a wired water sensor to be placed outside the basin, in case water makes it out. And it keeps tabs on the AC power and ambient temperature and humidity to boot.Installation is pretty simple. A couple zip ties hold the water level sensor in place above the basin, using the vertical output pipe. The sensor looks to be optical. One quirk here is that the setup will ask you to verify the measurement seen by the sensor - yet there is no way to calibrate or correct it. Mine looked to be off by about 5 inches, but all you can do is click confirm. Also, there is no way to view the level in the app after setup. It just reports that the level is "normal" thereafter (or, presumably, "high"). But the general purpose is served.I was happy to see that ambient temp was reported by the app, since one of my goals in using this is to prevent pipes from freezing. But the temp sensor seems to be integrated into the main box, which is itself plugged into the outlet, which is in contact with the subflooring. This means that in practice it is indirectly heated by the living space, and does not reflect true ambient temp in the crawl space.I've had this installed for a few weeks now but despite the damp weather my pump hasn't run yet. It typically only does run when the rain is intense. So, I can't report on the activity or flow monitoring, but I'm looking forward to seeing how that works. One note on this: be sure to measure your basin diameter during install. You will need it to program the app so it can compute the flow rate. One final note: while the kit includes one wired water/temp monitor, you can also purchase additional wi-fi flood/temp sensors that integrate (if I'm not mistaken) into the same app. That could make for a nice single-point solution to monitoring water presence and temp across a basement/crawl space and the mechanical room (e.g., water heater). The app itself is a bit sluggish but seems to work reasonably well Overall, glad for the peace of mind this provides on a crucial but inaccessible system. Will update if I run into any issues.”
“This took a bit to get set up and running. Once I did though I love it. I am using this as part of a flood and drain system and being able to view the history is nice. I like this product and once set up it it great. 5 STARS”
“I live in an area that has a high water table so my sump pump runs daily all summer long so I have always been worried about the pump failing without my knowledge and flooding the basement. This sump pump monitor provides added piece of mind that the pump is functioning as expected. The monitor was rather easy to install but be prepared to get a little dirty if your sump is anything like mine. The water level sensor has a USB connector on it so passing the cable through the sump cover requires a rectangular hole along the drain pipe. I didn't want to drill a huge hole in the cover to fit the USB connector through it so I'm running the cable under the edge of the cover instead for now. It seems like using a different connector would have made installation easier. The wizard in the app was rather easy to use. I did need to reset it once to allow the Wifi connection to succeed but after that the water level and pump monitoring started working right away. Being able to see daily and weekly water volume is interesting and it surprised me.The included water sensor is a nice addition to this kit as well. I have it monitoring the area around the drain incase the water heater or sump pump were to fail.Overall, I'm happy with this monitor. I'm glad there isn't a monthly fee to use this service as well.”
“This is a great device. It does exactly what I need to monitor my sump pump in my finished basement. After a pump failure caused some water damage to carpet and trim I was looking for something that would let me know if the sump pump wasn't functioning properly and also inform me if water was above the wet well level. With the water level sensor in the basin as well as the sensing disk I will know if I have a water issue. It also let me know that my pump didn't run when it should've due to the float being obstructed.”
“At first I found it very difficult to install. After, about 1hr I was able to get it all setup with pump. There is also a app that you must download that monitors everything. I would recommend this smart sump pump monitor to everyone. 5 stars”
“This was pretty easy to install for me, without tools other than a measuring tape. The position of my sump pump in the drainage tank isn't ideal since the sensor does not have an unobstructed view of the water level. I think that's why I'm getting wild readings on the water output. I'm not much concerned how many gallons of water are being pumped out, but more about that the pump is working. I got a few alerts within hours of setting it up, with nothing wrong but it may be that it was learning the system. I like that it will tell me when the water level is rising, and hope that it never gets to the additional water sensor which means that it is overflowing. I was thinking about putting a web cam in the basement for this purpose, but this is a much more elegant solution.”
“First off, it was a huge pain to get this device to recognize my wifi and the fact that only uses 2.4 ghz bands in 2022 is completely unacceptable. It's also frustrating that it uses a different app than Flo by Moen products. I shouldn't have to have two Moen apps on my phone, that's just dumb. That said, once set-up the device works great. I've seen a few people mention alerts for know reason, that's just because it's learning your water levels and how your pump performs. After a few days it settled down and now it does a fantastic job of keeping an eye on my sump. The app provide really nice detail on both your water level, the performance of the pump and historical information. If you can get past the finicky set-up it is definitely a great way to have peace of mind about your sump pump.”
