Hi Dan! First and foremost, we are delighted to hear that you felt safe aboard our yacht on your safari-style cruise with us to Galapagos and that you enjoyed your time. One thing to know about Quasar, and the one-of-a-kind travel experiences we create for our Guests, is that we prioritize completely immersing our Guests in the beauty of Galapagos, rather than focusing on the latest and greatest amenities onboard. Or, as we always like to say — we make the yacht all about the Galapagos, rather than the Galapagos about the yacht! Although our Evolution yacht may not be "modern" in terms of the year it was built, it is completely comparable to the brand new yachts on the Islands in terms of the onboard amenities, décor and comfort that it offers. We specifically choose these classic style yachts because they offer design features that the modern yachts don’t, such as 360 walk-around decks and lots of outside space, which is where our Guests choose to be when in Galapagos because of the perfect year-round weather. We've found that in our 36 years of experience, taking our Guests back in time to the Golden Age of Travel aboard ships that are extremely comfortable, safe and very well taken care of has been one of the main reasons we’ve received such great reviews, as well as our World’s Best Awards from Travel + Leisure! “What a fabulous experience! Quasar managed our trip from beginning to end, and everything went smoothly. The guides and crew on the Evolution were world class. Our family of six ranged in age from 10 to 80 and everyone had a wonderful time. A trip to the Galapagos is life-changing, and we can’t recommend Quasar and the Evolution more highly!”

“The gorgeous vintage ship, the Evolution Yacht itself, was a real factor in the trip's success for me. With its professional staff focused on details and safety, we stayed healthy, informed and able to go where no giant cruise could take us.”

“Beautiful ship with beautiful cabins!!! Amazing uppder deck lounge area with bar and bartender. Hot tub was awesome after snorkeling in the cold water.”

“The Evolution has everything you would want to be able to travel in comfort without excess. Clean, comfortable, and spacious (which I did not believe was a descriptor you could use while staying on a ship for a week). We passed a lot of other cruises and yachts during our time on the water and I would not have wanted to be anywhere other than the Evolution.”

“A perfect place to spend a week. The staff was impeccable, the rooms were spacious and well laid-out, the common areas were comfortable and designed for conversation, and the food was delicious. The layout of the yacht was perfect, with the teenagers able to be in one section, the younger kids in another area, and still several areas for adults to converse.”
