“The first carafe that was sent wasn't see by my Ratio 6. I assume this is due to the magnet type. No amount of postioning or twisting would let the carafe be seen through an entire brew cycle. Frustratingly, the brew cycle would intermittantly start and then stop 2/3 way through.
Happily though, Ratio's custom support shipped a replacement that has worked for several weeks now with 100% "accuracy". A+ for the support team.

“I purchased the Ratio 8 with the thermal set but a manufacturing defect in the carafe caused some trouble for me when I first received it. The magnet wasn’t strong enough. I hacked it with a button magnet and got up and running, but the kind people at Ratio sent me a glass Carafe for my troubles.
It is well made, as tall as my chemex, and generally a nice, quality piece.”
“Big improvement in taste over the thermal version. The lid for the thermal version cannot be cleaned and ruins the coffee and replacements are not available. The aesthetic of this glass carafe is great and looks better than the thermal unit. Two criticisms for the glass is that the machine is very finicky about the carafe alignment on the base. I always have to play with it to keep the 3 error lights from coming on. The glass carafe must be heated up prior or the coffee is tepid at best.”
