“I purchased the Ratio Eight as a gift and while it makes an incredible cup of coffee, the side bar attachment to the base is offset a bit, which happens with hand assembly I am told (I emailed customer service about this). If this imperfection wouldn’t bother you to look at daily, then this is worth the spend. Additionally, go with the thermal package for heat retention if there will be more than 2 cups enjoyed.”
“It seems like I’m always in search of that elusive “perfect” cup of coffee. I roast and grind my own coffee beans. I’ve tried various pour-over techniques, drip brewers, French presses, etc. Pour-overs like Chemex always seemed the best, but they’re a lot of trouble, and are time-consuming. The Ratio Eight solves the problem. I can start it, then do other things while it’s brewing - and the coffee is fantastic! I can say without a doubt that it brews the best coffee that I’ve been able to make at home. I highly recommend the Ratio Eight.”
Hello Lisa! If you don't drink your coffee right away, we recommend checking out our Ratio Eight Thermal Carafe - it will extend the drinking time to 90 min or so (depending on how hot you like your coffee).
Hope this helps!
“My Ratio 8 brews a great cup of coffee. I read coffee maker reviews for a year before ordering the Ratio, and I am delighted with my purchase. I am delighted first because it brews a superior cup of coffee and second because it is a beautiful machine. I must add a third reason for being delighted; the ordering process, attentive customer service, and speed of delivery showed me that this company cares about their products and customers.”
“We unwrapped the Ratio Eight and fired it up for an automated pour-over. Delighted to tell you that it worked just as you advertised! On the second try we adjusted the grinder from 32 (for our French Press) to the suggested setting 20 (Baratza Virtuoso) and had a superb cup of coffee with single origin beans from Ethiopia. This Ratio Eight is exactly what I had hoped for: Ease of use, pour-over quality, and stunning work of art. We use boiling water to pre-heat the glass carafe, the coffee cups, and wet the filter paper. Result is delicious hot gourmet coffee every time in just a few minutes. The plunging days of Es-Pro french press are over..long live Ratio Eight!”
