Easy Hook® Anchors Reviews

3.7 Rating 60 Reviews
Our 20x13x12 Shelter is in a location which has rocks we did not think we had. Some of the easy hook anchors drove just fine while severl the drive rod drove right throubh the anchors. In one case we just left the drive rod and put a plastic tip on it. Overall, they are the best solution for ancouring, but they don't always do what we expect.

My organization uses these anchors on a regular basis to anchor guylines for our meteorological towers. Although they don't work in all soil types (e.g., rocky terrain), they are very reliable. I see that a number of users have had difficulty with the pounding rod getting stuck. We have solved for this by slightly rounding one end of the rod with a file. By removing the hard factory edge, the chance of the rod sticking in the anchor is greatly reduced. If the manufacturer were to do this in the factory, it would likely improve their reviews.

I love the idea of how these should work but when you pound these in, the bar for pounding them in 'fuses' to the anchor. i ran out of bars long before i got my shelter anchored down and had to switch out to the screw in style anchors.

As I have very hard soil I bought these as an alternative to auger that came with my shelter. Banged the first one in and the rod that you insert was solidly stuck in the anchor. After a half hour of banging and twisting finally got the whole thing out and it took a sledge and a big vise to extract the rod from the anchor. The anchor is fairly soft metal and the rod you insert into into is very hard metal. Disaster stay away!

- the cable are bether than the one i had before, bigger cable. - a lot cheaper by at the compagny who produce it, than the reseler... 2 thing 1- you have to make the loop with the clamp. i hope the clamp not rust... will see next season 2- the pushing rod stock in the adaptor in the soil, the rod refuse to get out, need to full arround left right for some time to be able to get it out.
