TRAKK Heating Pad for Neck & Shoulder Reviews

3.5 Rating 113 Reviews
There were a number of mixed reviews with this and some other similar specialized heating pads and I was skeptical but bought as a deal of the day item and it works great. A number of women have mentioned that it didn't seem to fit well and didn't like it because of that. I have a 17 1/2 inch neck and it fits well. There is a soft metal bar that runs horizontally in the neck part that can be bent to make fit snug, much like the nose pincher on a paper dust mask. This gets quite warm/hot so sometimes I will put it on 4 for a few minutes and then drop it down to 2 or 1 and it feels very good and it has helped provide some relief for a chronic neck condition I have. Other times I have just started it on 2 and left it there and that works well and doesn't take long to feel the warmth. The construction is top rate and the outer edges are filled with weights which work well in allowing the pad to contour around your neck and shoulders. The cover is very plush and soft and it fits so well and is comfortable despite it weighing several pounds when you pick it up, but once on you don't notice it at all. This is more of a suggestion than a complaint as the controller only has forward movement which means you have to cycle though all four positions before it comes back around rather than having up and down switches like most heating pads. Going from 4 to 3 requires cycling off, 1, 2, and then 3. Not a big deal, just wondering why they didn't use the same type of controller as they have on their standard heating pads. It has a 5 year warranty that probably would cost more than it was worth to ship back if the thing is short lived, though this is a common issue with most warranties. Hoping it works as well as my Sunbeam flat heating pad that I have had for years.

My shoulder is unhappy after an encounter with a standup paddle board. Heat helps as my rotator cuff heals, and I've tried numerous heating pads. Literally bought 5 and have returned 4 (I rarely ever return an item). This fits like a cape over my shoulders, there is a magnetic closure that helps it stay in place. While heating, you are tethered to a cord which is long enough to reach...me. The heat is immediate, I have never exceeded 2 of 5. I've disconnected the cord from the heating pad, and walked away briefly. Heat remains for a few minutes, which is nice. Auto shut-off works. It feels so good I almost exceeded the amount of time recommended for use of heat. This was the least expensive heat I've bought and it is the best.

I'd been needing a heating pad specifically for my neck due to suffering from stiffness and headaches, and I was quite pleased to find something like this that was designed specifically for that area. It does provide a nice bit of heat, though for some it may not be enough. The max setting definitely could have gotten a little hotter, but at its limit it doesn't seem to overstay its welcome while wrapped around you. For what it's worth, the material itself is fairly comfortable and doesn't chafe. Washing the pad is also fairly easy, though do make sure it's completely dry before use.All things considered, it's well worth a try and a lot easier to use in the neck area than traditional rectangular heating pads.

the neck is stiff and uncomfortable. The heat is also dry. I get much better pain relief from microwaved heating pad because it is "moist" heat

I tried to ignore the negative reviews on here but don't make my same mistake! This is the first review I've ever written because I am so disappointed with this product. I'm a dentist with neck and back pain and I was so excited to receive this item for some pain relief. After plugging it in for the first time and putting it on the 3rd heat setting, I felt the heat kick in after about 5 minutes, but then it started to go away. Tried adjusting the remote, but it seemed to stop giving out heat after a certain amount of time (10 minutes). Tried it again the next day and it's not working at ALL. The remote is simply blinking on the 4th heat setting and is not dispersing heat at all. Will not listen to commands in remote unless it is unplugged. You've been warned!

Awkward positioning of cord. Overall a great product helps with stiff joints and shoulders in the morning.

Very Comfortable!!This heating pad forms well around the neck and seems to have a wide bar in the neck area to really give the heat to the areas that need it. It forms around the shoulders nice.y and seems to have been weighted nicely to keep it in place. The gray color is very light on the exterior and dark interior and the fabric is super soft. I am 5.1' and my husband is 5.8' and both of us were able to wear it comfortably. Great product - very glad I bought it.

I have been using one of the $8 rice bag / beanbag variety microwave neck warmers. This was recommended by a doctor to help with neck pain due to injury. I found that the rice bag helps my neck a lot, but does not provide as much coverage as I would like. I was hoping the sunbeam renue would be my answer. It wasn't. My main problem with the renue is that, while it is physically large, the heating elements only cover a small portion of its surface area, and feels somewhat randomly distributed across the blanket / wrap. As a result, I felt that I I got less, and less targeted heat (eg the heat doesn't closely wrap around my neck the way the rice bag does). Also, there is a lot of material in the renue with oddly distributed weights and magnets to, I assume hold it down around one's chest. the resulting feeling was awkward- the magnets didn't pull the bottom as tightly around my chest as I wanted, the wrap is soft, like a blanket, but there is stuff inside- metal, weights, etc, which prevents it from wrapping around nicely like a blanket. Add to that that the issues with the heat, and I just found that this product missed the mark. Most importantly, the renue didn't provide the relief that I got from the rice bag. I returned this Item.
