“I love doing the resets and cleanses- I feel the most organized during those times and have even done them on my own without the community accountability just to keep myself on track. I also think the fb group is really powerful- even if you aren’t posting or commenting, seeing other people with you or having the same experiences really helps keep the momentum.”
“Pros
- IT WORKS WONDERS!!- I finally got my husband to join me last time and he shares my sentiments - you feel calmer inside, like a sigh of relief has washed over you and your body is so grateful for what you are feeding it. I never feel hungry, the recipes are delicious and refreshing. It’s flexible, so if you don’t want to do it completely vegan you don’t have to. I have more energy and as a bonus I loose weight every time I do it.
Cons
Your grocery bill is going to be a bit higher than normal, but the cleanse is very up front about this. I view it as part of my self care spoils, this isn’t something that is going to deteriorate over time, you are nourishing your body and providing much needed help and support for healthier, happier ,living.
The first time around I got a little over “Veggied” and wound up with an upset stomach , but remember this is a cleanse not a life style change the ingredients are specifically chosen to help you detox so your going to feel a little rough the first week.
The recipes can be a bit elaborate for me who doesn’t like to prep or cook , I spend a lot of time in the kitchen on this cleanse but it’s worth it.
If you are uncertain , this is me telling you just do it, what do you have to loose? Besides a little fatigue and weight.”
“I have done the cleanse since 2015. I try to do it AT LEAST once a year. It's usually after the holidays when I have over indulged. The best thing about the cleanse is they set you up for success. They give you a list of what you can and cannot eat, a book that is resource to help you understand the cleanse and why you are doing it, your meal plan, and your shopping list. All you need to do to be successful is grocery shop and execute the recipes.
Always cooking from home isn't always easy and there are definitely days when you don't want to cook. They have incorporated ways to help with that as well.
My favorite part is when I tell people I am on a cleanse and they think I am starving myself. After I explain all the delicious food I get to eat, please are shocked and intrigued.
I always have amazing results with the cleanse. I feel better, feel less bloated, have more energy, and sleep better. The weight loss is just the cherry on top. If you give the cleanse a try, you will not be disappointed. I can guarantee that you will see results. Thank you Jen & everyone at Simple Green Smoothies for introducing this program into my life.”
“I was first introduced to the 30-day green smoothie challenge by a colleague a few years ago. Since then, I have purchased the 21-day cleanse, the 7-day reset and pretty much every other program that has been published by Jen. I even bought one of them twice. Anyway, all of this to say that I really like these programs, they are so well designed and so easy to follow and best of all, you don't feel like you are struggling through it at all - the meals are delicious and I have adopted many of them into my weekly routines. My whole family and friends love the chia pudding! In short, this program is definitely worth a try.”
“I liked the recipes. They were fairly simple with easy to find ingredients. It was nice to have everything printed because whoever got home from work first could start cooking. I really liked the fact that there were leftovers to have for lunch the next day. That is a practice I’ve tried to keep up. There were a couple of recipes that I just didn’t love so I was able to substitute with another recipe I did like.
The snacks were okay. I’m not a huge snack eater so it was usually easier for me to grab a handful of almonds or fruit instead of making the snack recipes.
I lost 8 pounds week one, 4 pounds week two, and 2 pounds week three. I went into the cleanse already eating pretty healthy but needed to eliminate some sweets and dairy. Overall, I just felt better, more energized. I plan to do a reset at least once a year.”
“I LOVE the 21 day resets! I’ve been doing them a couple times a year for the past several years now. Granted the first time I did it, I was a little over whelmed with just the long grocery list and how much time I was spending in the kitchen (you eat so much real food!), but hear me out - it gets so much easier. 21 days is usually how long it takes for a habit to set in, and by the end of this cleanse you feel (and look) so great, prep work for this wholesome eating just becomes a breeze!
Results of the cleanse are fantastic - you get your body off addictions (sugar, coffee, bread!), you have glowing skin (I’ve received many compliments during this cleanse), energy levels soar after day 4 or so and you sleep so much better.
Best part is, you don’t feel deprived. You are eating real food (some of the most delicious flavors I’ve had!) and drinking green smoothies, eating snacks and yummy tonics. It’s just a win-win! Definitely recommend this to anyone!”
“Lost weight, however i continued to workout. I felt the cleanse needed more protien. All in all it was great, clean, delicious meals that i still implement. Helped me create new clean eating habits. I did this cleanse in January and again late june. I've just added more protein and complex carbs to the recipes to keep me full throughout the day while training.”
“I did the 21 day cleanse and the weight has stayed off. I still need more energy and for my skin to clean up. I am sure that will happen next. My appetite has change a lot. It takes less food to full me up. I plan on doing more healthy snacks.”
