I just recieved the sword back from an unboxing/review by YouTuber Outlaw Samurai 47. Please view it if you wish. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality and execution. The only critique I can level is that I specified and paid for the "Mirror Polish" ($30.00 U.S.) option and I do not feel that was accomplished to the industry standard. Below is a Production Ryujin Year of the Dragon T10 and the difference in polish is even more substantial than the photos show. I do not believe it is even debatable that the Hanbon does not in fact possess a mirror polish. I know Hanbon is more that capable of doing a great polish so there must have been a communication error or someone simplly forgot to finish it. As stated, I am pleased at the execution of the processes that were completed. The optional Saya is nicely done in red/burgundy laquer with Buffalo horn fittings. Retension is lacking, however I chalk that up to environmental differences. The 26.8" 1095 folded D.H. steel Shinogi-Zukuri blade is very nicely made with a nice Midare (Real) hamon and real Yokote. The Ha is a optinal "Sharp with Niku" although sharpness is average(as seen in Outlaw Samurai 47's review video). The optional (Tsuka-Maki) : Katate-Maki with Hishigami wrap in light-brown synthetic ito, black, real samegawa panels, waisted, 11" tsuka is the highlight of the sword IMHO as it is beautifully done. The Fuchi & Kashira are plain gloss black alloy and show casting lines (a non-recomend). The copper seppa/habaki are nicely done and look classy as does the black,Iron, Mushashi style tsuba. The multi-color synthetic Sageo is a step above standard. Would I recomend HanBon Forge for a Custom build and are they a good value? Yes, I have no trepidations recomending both Swordis and HBF. I feel they are a "good to above average" value in the market. You can tell by their work that HBF have some talented Smiths and artisans. Thank you, Pimp T HBF Custom Order# 108xxx

Full sized blade, 8” handle, double fuller, straight edge, etc. I put in an odd custom config and they followed through with flying colors. This is one well built sword

This was my first time ever ordering a custom made sword from an online source and had no idea how long it would take to finish my order. Thankfully, the fine folks here at Swordis were extremely helpful when I inquired them about my order. Regular updates via email were quick and easy, and the end product was definitely worth the wait!

The blade itself looks excellent, and the fittings are made very well. The only complaint is that the blade rattles slightly in the Saya.

The sword arrived on time and was built precisely to my specifications. It slices through bottles well and even after a hard hit to a block of wood, the handle and edge remain solid and in perfect condition. I like how Swordis gives you the ability to choose the steel type, color, and handle length.

Always wanted a nodachi and I always wanted a custom katana, I was able to get both at the same time. Everything about the sword is beautiful, the fittings are nice and tight, the balance and weight of the sword allows me to swing it easily with just one hand. The price is basically unbeatable and I didn't hold back on what I wanted. I only need to test the sharpness of the sword when I get a chance
