“Skipping Rock was a great find! James and Lynn have everything ready for an easy upscale camping trip. It rained a bit but everything stayed dry in our nice canvas tent. The bed was one of the more comfortable beds we've slept on even at some hotels. They have a camp stove, fuel, firewood, chairs, even a drying line already strung. I highly recommend the location as well. On the back side of their property near a peaceful river.
We even had a work issue and had to miss our first night. James offered for us to stay an extra night to make up for it. Lovely hospitality!

“Very well equipped campsite. The grill for the fire pit perfectly cooked our steak and ingredients for panzanella one night. Wood was dry which has been an issue at other properties. The Colman stove made breakfast easy both mornings we were there and allowed pesto pasta and corn for dinner one night to switch up camping fare. Tubes were enjoyed by both of us. The river floats you along at a sedate enough pace, you can paddle back when so inclined. Swing placed to enjoy views of the river. My six year old and I had a lovely weekend.”
“This spot is amazing. The site is nestled in shade which is great for hot summer days/nights. While the river is out in the sun. It’s a slow stream river perfect for swimming and jumping off the tree rope swing. The site was equipped with everything! A Coleman stove, bedding, lanterns, water, and other small great touches. Very private and cozy. A gem! We will be back!”
“We had a lovely stay at Skipping Rock! The site was private, shaded, and right on the water (perfect for the hot weather)! The hosts provided tubes that allowed us to float down the river. We set up the extra tent for the kids. We only stayed 2 nights but enjoyed just hanging around the campsite and in the river.”
