Came here this past week with boys 3 and 5years old and my dad. About 2 hrs from Long island. Main things here that worked for me was that parking was on site, off a small incline that can be a bit slippery so use caution in wet season; covered areas for food prep, covered porch; bunk beds w air mattress(felt more sanitary than regular mattress), and toilet inside the tent. No electricity but solar powered lights in tents and kitchen area. Wood burning stove in tent for nights. Yes the toilet inside tent part may be a bit off-putting but when u have two littles needing to go in the night, or having to do #2, not dragging them outside in the cold is a huge plus. A big creek is near by, might be fun during the summer. there’s a hammock overlooking the creek, have to be a bit cautious w kids due to risk for falling out into a ravine right at the edge. But definitely super fun w adult supervision. John was, as noted previously in other reviews, a great host. Loved that bug spray his wife made. He also gave us a spare propane gas tank when we ran out the first night. Very responsive, and kind. Thank you very much for a wonderful time!

John was an excellent host. My fiance and I are very inexperienced campers and John was there to help whenever we needed it. The space was lovely. I would highly recommend!

The trip was awesome. John was a great host and the site was lovely. It was easy to access, had all the amenities you'd expect from a signature site, and John met us on arrival to talk us through the site. Will definitely return in the future.

I simply can't say enough! We had the most wonderful time at this simply beautiful camp. It was the first time my family (myself, husband and kids ages 7 and 3) had ever camped together and we happened to choose the day when hurricane Ida hit the northeast. John was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He brought us a portable stove since we couldn't light a fire outside, extra dry wood for the stove in the tent, extra food, hot chocolate for the kids, etc. We managed to stay warm and dry in the amazing tent. As other reviewers have said the eggs, bacon and most especially the fresh baked bread are well worth it. My husband is still talking about the bread. Once the storm cleared we were able to take advantage of the location and were a short distance away from many activities and towns. But our favorite part was hanging out at the site which is it's own little oasis. We will be back for sure. John and his wife are fantastic hosts who take great care and pride. Thank you!

This trip was fantastic for a first camping trip for our kids. The creek was more of a river because of Ida but the sound of it goi g to sleep at night was wonderful. John and his wife were beyond helpful and fantastic hosts. Anything we needed and John was right there for us. His wife is a phenomenal chef and sent along delicious foods for breakfast. Her handmade organic bug spray was so effective I asked to purchase more before we left! We will definitely be back.

Riverwalk was a truly amazing site, by far my favorite out of the dozen Tentrrs we have visited. We came in on the Metro North and were able to get a taxi from Wassaic for $40. It is a particularly great spot for those that are traveling lightly, as there are wonderful markets with local goods nearby, however the site itself still feels totally secluded. We didn't see or hear a single person until our feet hit the pavement. There are also a handful of charming antique stores, wine shops and cafes within walking distance. Do yourself a favor when the last of your ice melts and visit Coyote Flaco for some incredible Mexican food and margaritas! The campsite itself sits above a gushing river, which is easy to access and perfect for wading around and relaxing in the rapids. There's even a second fire pit for creekside smores! In addition to the usual layout, we also really appreciated: the large flat hammock, 2 big canopies that cover the picnic table and tent porch, delicious bug spray made by John's wife, and the firewood storage area. John was a very generous host and saved the day when we couldn't get ice. He even snuck a fancy treat into the cooler, as we were there to celebrate my birthday. This is definitely a place to revisit!
