“We came to Lava Rock on recommendation from other families with young kids that enjoyed it. The tent with double queen bunk bed worked great for us 4, and the screened in eating area was a nice touch since the woods were still quite buggy in August. The big lawn and private pond were great for the warm summer days and we brought a paddleboard, though it looks like they have some floats and boats on site too. We hiked to Little Ball mountain for a great view, and you can even catch a faraway glimpse of the Tentrr site from the overlook. We'll definitely recommend this to others and hope to come back again ourselves. The host came by to say hi and mention $5 firewood bundles by the driveway. Just make sure you have everything you need well before arriving, since this spot is far from stores and the ones closest by had limited hours.”
“The campsite itself was perfectly maintained and easy to find. It is only a short distance to Lake Winnipesauke and the surrounding towns (which are very cute!). We went right as the leaves were starting to peak and the views were absolutely stunning. Jim was extremely helpful and even offered to let us hang out around the campsite past the checkout time. Would definitely like to come back sometime!”
“Our trip to Lava Rock was wonderful. The site is slightly wooded, but adjacent to a rolling well manicured pasture with a gorgeous pond of crystal clear moving water. Everything was as described, clean, and comfortable. Jim does a great job of preparing the site as well as manicuring the grounds. Do not miss an opportunity to visit Lava Rock!!”
“Wish we could post pictures - the place is beautiful! First thing first, the working toilet, sink, and hot shower are game changers in the Tentrr world. We have stayed in our fair share of Tentrrs and always enjoy a good solar shower but it was so much easier having a working toilet, sink and hot shower - nice job guys! The location is beautiful with plenty of hiking and fun wildlife (a family of turkeys cruises around the field most days). The pond is cold but very nice and refreshing. The Tentrr site is tuck in the woods at the back of the large field, so you definitely have privacy from the main house. It poured the last night that we stayed but the hosts had upgraded the standard Tentrr setup with another roof tarp so you're even more protected from the elements - it worked well! Hosts were great and if you're up for a decent hike you can get to the top of a mountain that overlooks Lake Winnie. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend.”
“Great location and fantastic experience! Everything you need for a great camping experience is available at the campsite. And the property is just gorgeous. Just be aware that the campsite is sheltered in the woods, which is great for warm summer days, but it means you don't see the amazing meadow from the tent and the dining table. Also be prepared for mosquitos. Except these tiny details, the place is absolutely wonderful and I will recommend it to all my friends!”
