I was so happy to receive a note in OCTOBER about being able to order Hatch Chile Peppers. When they arrived in EXCELLENT condition I was pleased but even more pleased when I ate the first pepper. The Charger was so much more meatier than other Chilies I have eaten outside New Mexico. Also, I LOVE the Medium-Hot flavor, I truly love hot but not all the time. This medium hot Chile is going to be my go-to choice with a few HOT-HOT peppers of course just to get my blood boiling again. YUM!! Can't wait for the next Hatch Chile Season to start and am excited to know it will last well thru October!

Flavor is really good, I just prefer a hotter Chile. Can’t go wrong if looking for a good tasting Chile.

Big Jim is a fairly inconsistent variety as far as heat level goes. I would recommend ordering Sandia next time. It will have a bigger and more consistent kick to it.

This was my third box of Hatch green chile this year, due to a recipe my sister gave me that I find addictive. Anyway, since the Sandia peppers were no longer available, I tried these Charger chiles. They are well formed and sturdy and would be a good choice for chiles rellenos. But I don't think they have quite as much flavor as Sandia. The level of spiciness is as described. Be sure to char them thoroughly in order to get the skins off.
