We share the 5-star enthusiasm of other reviewers! This is our long-time favorite, too. Pairs so well with sashimi, and especially with salmon, tuna, scallops. And on its own! If you haven’t tried it, seize the opportunity!

Very enjoyable and easy drinking. Will be a stable in my collection. Received this in my tasting box. Must have full bottle!

For the longest time, my only experience of sake was the "house hot sake" at Japanese restaurants. My wife took me to Double Knot in Philly for my birthday, and the waiter (who was self proclaimed as "a real sake nerd") insisted that I order a chilled Drunken Whale. It was so smooth and floral and unlike anything I've ever had. This was my gateway sake. I have since drank a lot of very nice sake, and the bar is now set much higher. Returning to Drunken Whale - it hasn't blown my socks off, but it's solid and pairs well with most food. Definitely recommended!

The “Drunken Whale” is my go-to sake. Room temperature or very slightly cooled. It pairs well with the other sake, salmon, thinly sliced cold smoked and served with seasoned nori squares.

Suigei is classic. I used to drink this all the time when I was in Japan. The price is reasonable and it pairs well with most Japanese foods. I've drank it hot before too and it was good nurukan (luke warm).

Dry, smooth, goes down way too easily. It truly feels like you are drinking a sake in Japan.
