Suigei “Tokubetsu Junmai” Reviews

4.6 Rating 95 Reviews
A very good sake to have with a variety of foods. Not quite as interesting as Suigei's Koiku 54, but a really solid tokubetsu junmai and a good overall value.

Dry and crisp but a little bland cold.

酔鯨 Suigei (Drunken Whale) from Kochi Prefecture is a straightforward, no nonsense, premium pure rice brew. Rice me up the main sail, boys! I’ve got a salt wind thirst. Yes, this is good one. I’ve enjoyed it many times. Good quality, affordable price, delivered in a timely manner in the current BY (brewing year) so that it is fresh. Not fruity nor earthy, Suigei takes you right down the middle of the road. Serve up the sushi and pour the sake. Say Ahhhhh to the blue skies, warm ocean breeze, billowing white clouds. It’s smooth sailing with the “Drunken Whale.”
