After reading about the Gold Lions as being a noticeable upgrade for my MA 252 I thought I'd give them a shot. I do notice a difference; richer sounding, some additional detail and a slightly wider and deeper soundstage after a couple hours of listening. The improvements continued as the tubes broke in. I'm happy I made the purchase.

These tubes work really great! I installed them in my Dynaco PAS-2 preamp, and the sound is terrific.

This in the only 12AX7 that I use in my Mcintosh Pre-Amp. UA is the only tube seller I've used for many many years for a reason, Product and Customer Service.

I have a Jolida Glass FX DAC II with tube output that originally came with Tung-Sol tubes. I liked it right out of the box. After a couple of years I replace the tubes with Tung-Sol Gold Pins (from an unnamed dealer that didn't match the tubes). Big improvement! So about 3 years go by and I get upgrade-itis and spring for these Gold Lions (Kevin's stash, no cryo). They arrive today and sat on my front step in 30 degree weather(New England Cryo?), and within an hour of getting home from work they were installed. Awesome. Definitely more liquid sound. Diana Krall, Concord Jazz Sampler, Eva Cassidy, Motown, classic rock...all great. My DAC gets Apple lossless files (ripped CDs) from a toslink connected Apple TV, sends them to my Rotel RX 1052 over Kimber Timber cables, to my B&W 704 S2s over Kimber 4TC wire. Mid Fi to a lot of people, but I could absolutely hear the improvement (as could my non-audiophile wife). Was it because they were newer? Gold Lions? Matched pair? Kevin's Stash? I don't know, but it was money well spent. A quibble? I couldn't get them 100% into the tube socket, it looked like they had about 1mm more to go all the way, and I didn't feel like forcing them more. And the pace and timing was down about 0.005%......OK, just kidding on that last part....
