“Not impressed. Loud, muddy mids, no lows, no highs. Was hoping, based on qualities found w/ el34s, that the kt88s would carry those same traits. PSv kt88tiis blow them out of the water, as do GL kt88s. Thanks.”

“I tried all available KT 88 tubes from you guys for my MAC 275. Each had their own merits but to my ears the Mulllards stood out from the crowd by being the most musical. I listen to mostly jazz & piano is what I use to determine that. They are outstanding!”

“I am not sure how to rate this. I purchased it to replace one in my amp that was having issues biasing the set of 4, and then a fuse blew. I did a startup fuse check and found one that would not start up. Replaced it with this new one. The amp will start up and play for a while then the protection circuit shuts it down in the same way as before, repeatedly. I have two other sets of power tubes that work fine but I prefer the sound of the Mullards. So there is still some kind of issue with them. That being said I do love these tubes, but for me the reliability has been an issue, and it sucks having to replace the whole set after about 1000 hours. BTW upscale as always did a great job with the purchase and shipping.”

“Rolling the KT88's into the El34 sockets was quite startling. The first standout in my Prima Luna was the power increase, and to my ears a little more color over the 34's especially in the top end. I am now eagerly awaiting my Rega P10 with the Aphelion 2 that Kat is setting up for me.”

“I run my Prima Luna Prologue Two with Mullards KT88. In one word, sophisticated. Smooth response throughout the frequency spectrum. Thumpy, quick bass, glassy highs with no sibilance, balanced mids. Just a touch warmer than Gold Lions. Can't say enough about how refined these tubes are.”
