The Fly12 Sport is greatly improved over the original Fly12. It is lighter, smaller, higher resolution, and stabilized. I'm happy with the product itself. I do have some criticisms. 1. The registration process was not as smooth as it should have been. The online illustration shows a barcode and Qcode on the box it comes in—those were not present on MY box. There IS a Qcode on the product itself, but you have to open the charging port to see it—information that was absent from the instructions. 2. The online quickstart guide does not include an illustration that labels the 3 buttons, so the instructions aren't as clear as they would be if you knew what each button does. 3. I'm glad that a tether is included. After one very bad experience where my Garmin and original Fly12 crashed to the ground when the mount broke, I always tether my Garmin. But unlike the Garmin tether that stretches, the Fly12 does not. so the tether will not slide up and over the horns on the handlebar. The workaround is to feed the Fly12 through a loop of the tether around the handlebar. The problem there is that the tether is too short, so I can just barely get the Fly12 through the loop. What should be quick and easy—as it is with the Garmin—takes a lot of finagling, both getting it on AND off. The solution for Cycliq would be to make the tether longer or make it stretchable.

The UX of the app isn't super clear. I was really hoping to be able to just quickly grab clips from my phone without having to plug it into a laptop. Ran into several issues trying to plug it in and getting error messages about the camera sucking too much power. It's not SUPER clear when riding whether a particular clip or video has saved, I was trying to film some new protected bike lanes put up in our neighbourhood, but wasn't sure if I'd successfully captured the clips until I got home, because I hadn't locked them. Overall I just wish the onboarding/first use UX was better, and that the app was able to just capture the video or transfer it over via bluetooth. If it is and I haven't found it, I chalk that up to unclear or fuzzy UX. Nothing in the manual about this either. The 1/8 turn clip is a bit narrow for my handlebars so I had to mount it further out than I would have liked. Video quality and stabilization is absolutely excellent. Build quality of the hardware is A+

Very happy with this camera, only have to charge it every second day. Cops said imagine quality was very good, as do I. One thing that would improve all the Cycliq cameras would be if when pressing the Q button to lock video, it synced and locked the video on all the cameras as well, instead of having to find a safe place to stop and press the Q button on the rear camera. Thus reducing the risk of over right potentially vital evidence after a crash, for example.

It's a really great concept that falls short on execution. Who wouldn't love a light and camera combo? The light itself isn't very bright, even on the brightest setting. The 1/8 turn mount is rather difficult to use... and when I try to get videos off onto my phone using a USB cable, the Cycliq IQ program does not find the device. My tablet finds the device, but it frequently disconnects.

It's a worthy successor to the previous model. Smaller, better camera, equal or better battery life in real life use. The one downside is that the beeper volume, even at maximum, is too low. Also, I'd like to see better synchronicity with the Fly6, as in making all the configuration settings the same between the two.

Happy that this is the lightest weight of the Fly 12 series so that it is below the weight limit of the combination computer mount I use. Very glad that it does not waste microsd space with unneeded TMP files. The rear status panel and the blinking red light when it is recording is very welcome. The graphical display of battery level is very nice too. This model's microphone seems to pick up audio better than earlier generations. Extremely convenient to be able to lock a file with the Q button while riding and not have to stop.
