“I got these for free as I complained about the frankly ridiculous wind noise at all speeds. GoPro suppresses wind noise so much better. I had threatened to return the camera as the issue was impacting massively on my footage. I can report that the filters have significantly improved the wind noise but do question why these stick on filters are even needed. The next incarnation should resolve this issue without the need for an aftermarket modification.”
“Very disappointed mainly because there is no good alternative. This is the fourth Cyclic 12 I have purchased, and some of those purchased have been replaced due to failures. I am very reluctant to ride without a video but there is no good looping front camera alternative so I have had to buy a fourth because the on-off button on one has disintegrated and the other the on-off button simply will not work. The video is good, has won a court case for us once and has been very useful to the police on another occasion, but too expensive for something so unreliable. The new design, the flap covering the charging port, which is not protected by the case, shows signs already that it will fail over time.”
“It's ok - for a 3rd generation device, and at this price point, it's missing quite a few features (IMO).
If I'm reading the instructions correctly, you can't use the device as a light only - if you're riding on a closed trail for instance and want that battery longevity
You can't view videos from the app (have to connect to a computer, or remove the microSD card)
You have to connect the device to a computer to update firmware (you cannot update from the app)
You really can't do much from the app
The Velcro straps are an odd choice to me - the usual rubber strap would have been a better choice in my opinion
It's ok. I wouldn't buy it again, or recommend it, but I don't hate it.”
“Despite all of the bad reviews in chatrooms, I was able to communicate timely with customer service and the housing replacement was shipped within the first 5 days. The part arrived timely considering it came from Australia but without any instructions. They did email me the instructions before I decided to make the replacement myself. I printed out the large color instructions and it was simple and easy step-by-step to finish in under 20 minutes (I am slow)”
“Works well, needs improvements:
(1) More battery life, 6 hours
(2) Brighter front light, >500lumens in flash mode
(3) Needs Bluetooth integration between the Fly12 and the Fly6 so they can be set up (via the app) so that turning on (or off) the Fly12 also turns the Fly6 on (or off), pressing the Q button on the Fly12 also activates Q on the Fly6, time syncing the Fly12 also syncs the Fly6 to the same time, etc”
