I use the Pulse for all of my grilling but it is especially handy for tracking a rotisserie cook where using a wired probe isn’t possible.

High quality construction and the signal works good. The chisel tip seems to make insertion easier. It is heavy. I am not sure I agree with the price though. Without the S1G antenna, you have a probe that barely can keep signal, which is strange to me why you need a separate attachment to make the connectivity better. This should have been engineered into the probe better and thought about better without needing an extra attachment for your Fireboard. Also, at this price point there should be multiple sensors inside the Pulse. Other wireless thermometers at this price point have multiple sensors and algorithms that check the best possible temp of the meat. Some have flip detection, and have a more robust app. While the Pulse has great construction, the connectivity and lack of multiple sensors inside the probe, I don't see why this wireless probe is so expensive. Its actually kind of a waste of money. I have easily found other wireless thermometers with more features and just as good quality construction for the same price, and some of those even had multiple probes. Seems kind of costly just to have a wireless probe that integrates with the Fireboard. If I knew what I know now, I probably wouldn't recommend this.

I really want to love the Pulse but it's just lacking and already behind the curve compared to other brands out there. I have two major beefs with the Pulse: 1. The internal sensor is 2/3rds the way down the shaft making it difficult to know where it's at when you insert it. This also limits how far in the sensor can reach which can be a problem for larger proteins. I'm not quite sure I understand why they wouldn't put the sensor close to the tip to make it easier to place? 2. There's only 1 internal sensor. Pretty much every other brand out there has multiple internal sensors, I don't understand the reasoning behind only doing one? Having multiple sensors in a probe helps guarantee you are finding the true "core" of the protein as it will read and display the lowest temp. I do love the Fireboard app, it's my favorite out of all the ones I've tried. I also really like the shape of the Pulse as it's easy to grab and insert and the charging dock is really nice with being able to stack multiple probes to charge at once. I just can't give the Pulse a high rating because Fireboard dropped the ball on not having multiple internal sensors.

I am pleased enough with how it worked that I purchased two more to go with it, and they’re not cheap. I guess that’s as strong an endorsement as I could give them.

Tried the pulse on a couple roasts on my Yoder Smoker. It was easy to connect with the Yoder Smoker and worked perfectly. Roasts turned out perfect and temp readings were spot on.

I’ve used it twice before and now it won’t charge or connect with iPhone or FireBoard 2. Complete junk.
