“I purchased this to replace the Meater setup I have been using for some years nw. But, during the first couple of cooks, I used both probes and the Meater had no issues communicating through the metal cooker. Fireboard probes failed, even with the base unit being no more than 10” from the remote probe.
They recommended I buy the antenna, so I did. Let’s see how it will perform with the antenna. If it does not work, I will return it all for a full refund.”
“I was wanting a wireless probe that could connect to my Fireboard Drive 2 and when this product came out, I was pumped to get my hands on it. After waiting 6 months to make sure there was positive feedback from other fellow grillers and smokers, I pulled the trigger and purchased it. “I have two probe units, unlike other wireless thermometers I own, I have found that when I go to use these, I have to charge both the base and probe every time. The base and probes don’t hold a charge unless they are kept plugged into main power over USB. This is disappointing as what would be expected is that you could undock the probe and use it, then re-dock the probe where it would recharge ready for use the next time. This is not the case, you need to plug these into USB power every time wait until they are charged then you can use them. As such I have found myself avoiding the use of these and going back to my old wireless thermometers which are always ready for use.”
“After consulting with your excellent support, I received my probes well within my needs for a tight timeline. They look great, paired easily in the app, but the charging is the real standout. Not only does it use the One True Connector, USB-C, so I don't need yet another adapter, but I love the pass-through charging allowing me to stack them together to charge them all with a single cable. “I like the simplicity, no wire, accuracy of the temp probe. I really like the charger and how fast it charges. The ambient portion, not so impressed with it. I think maybe a good idea would to make a separate, wireless ambient, clip on the grate probe.”
