“No more wires, no more wires, Hallelujah! no more wires! I have used a couple other competitor wireless thermometers and they either stopped working after a couple of cooks or were trash out of the box. I am sold! And even bought a second pulse. The pulse just works (accurate temps and constantly connected for an 11 hour brisket cook!). And with the intuitive streamlined phone application there is no technological frustration. The best part is I love grabbing the meat out of the smoker without having it to deal with BBQ cable management. 10 outta 10 I highly recommend!”
“I’m on my second blue pulse, and this one no longer shows the internal temperature on the Fireboard app. Tried deleting all of my pulse probes from the app and re-adding them, the red and stainless one show both temps, but the blue one does not. Only have 3 or maybe 4 cooks on the blue probe, and the first one I ordered died on the first cook and I was sent this replacement unit that only seems to have made it two cooks without issue.”
“I want to love the pulse, but I am getting internal temps reported that are well above any other thermometer I have (Yoder with built in Fireboard, spark instant and external probe, javelin pro instant read thermometer) when inserted to the minimum insertion depth. I am guessing that maybe the external portion is transferring heat to the portion inside of the meat, but who knows. I will continue to experiment with deeper insertion depths, but for now I am only relying on it for the external temp.”
“Just used the Pulse when cooking a Pork Loin on the rotisserie and it performed flawlessly. No problem for the signal to advance through the double wall, stainless steel hood on my DCS gas grill.
Note, that I learned when using the Pulse that you get a more accurate internal temperature reading if the probe is inserted all the way up to the ring. Exposing too much of the shaft to the external environment will slew the internal temperature reading to the upside.
BTW, my Fireboard shown in the pictures is set in the 3D printed enclosure that I made.”
“I have not use this product yet, but its says it comes with USB C charging cable, but mine did not. Second time I've felt taken by the details on this website vs. what I actually receive.”
“I bought this thermometer on atbbq.com I bought white, red and blue versions. The white one was defective and i couldnt charge it in full (maximum i could get was 80%). Fireboard support sent me replacement (brand new). This one was also defective and showed external temperature too high (see picture below with graphics of all 3 units placed close to each other) . Also the stainless steel plate dislodged from the unit. I requested replacement from Fireboard again and yesterday received replacement (refurbished). So far it is working ok at room temperature. Customer service is very good (very responsive and efficient).”
“I was so excited for this product. Finally I would have a way to monitor a rotisserie cook, where a wired probe is not an option. I also bought the S1G antenna to ensure the best connectivity possible.
Sadly, the Pulse can't get a signal out of my Weber Searwood 600 to the Fireboard 2. The Pulse works great after insertion into a hunk of meat, the Fireboard showing that S1G is active, right up to the point where I put it in the smoker and close the lid. The Fireboard never receives another temperature update from the Pulse, and eventually either the Fireboard or the Pulse gives up on the whole venture and the Fireboard removes it from the dashboard. Even though my Fireboard is sitting on the smoker's pellet hopper about 1 foot from the probe (through the lid of the smoker).
I bought 2 Pulses and have tried them both. Both work fine until I put them in the smoker and close the lid, then it's lights-out.
I am deeply deeply disappointed. I so wanted this to work. Now I have an utterly useless S1G antenna and 2 equally useless probes.”
