“I purchased a used Yoder YS640 pellet smoker in 2018, and when Yoder introduced the YS640S with the ACS controller I was immediately intrigued. So when Yoder introduced the upgrade controller for the Yoder I was all in. Ive been using the Fireboard drive technology with the Yoder since May 2020. Fast forward to 2024 when I added a Kamado Joe Classic III to my outdoor kitchen. I was looking for more intense smoke and am not disappointed. However, I quickly found that I missed the monitoring capabilities of connected cooking that I have with the Yoder. Since I already have the Fireboard connectivity and app, it made sense to stick with what I know, but after looking at customer reviews, there was no other option. I purchased the Fireboard 2 drive bundle with blower for the Kamado Joe and am not disappointed. Once I set temperature it holds +/- 5 degrees of set point. It has all of the functionality that I've come to know on the Yoder, and if I want to monitor more than two cooks on the Yoder, I can use it there also, and see everything in one app. Definitely recommend this item and am not at all disappointed.”
“I bought the bundle, along with the ball valve adapter to go with my IVS . Although I could control the temps with the ball valve., there were constant temp swings. I only used it once, but so far, once I get the dampers figured out, it will be a true set and forget cooker.”
