“Only reason I’m not giving a 5 is I also purchased a separate ball valve attachment for the blower fan to go on my new Myron Mixon G33 smoker that will be delivered in a few weeks. You only sell 1 inch adapters and my smoker has a 1 1/2 inch ball valve. So, I had to purchase an adapter for my adapter in order to use the blower with my smoker. Other than that, the FireBoard is absolutely amazing, great job and fantastic product”
“After a LOT of reading reviews I elected to purchase this bundle as well as a fan to be driven by the controller. I’ve only used it a few times and not yet with the fan. However it seems to function very well and I love the bundle’s included extra probes and silicone sleeves for 2 of them. The app works well too. When I first received it, battery only showed 92% charge no matter how long it was charged. Called customer support and they quickly identified my unit and pushed a firmware update to it while I was in the phone. Problem resolved. Also had a few emails back and forth with questions. Always answered promptly and courteously. Seems like a great company and I’m loving my Christmas gift to myself so far. My biggest challenge will come when I soon take on a full brisket. I’m certain this tool will help immensely.”
“I recently purchased the fireboard 2 drive bundle to pair with my kamado joe big joe series 3 ceramic grill. I knew going into a long cook such as a brisket or a large pork shoulder at smoking temperatures of 225° would be difficult to maintain by just manually adjusting the vent settings and checking frequently for variations such as when more charcoal starts to burn and the fire moves around the basket throughout a 8-12 hour period. The fireboard 2 drive eliminates this problem...I was able to set a program via the app on my android phone for 225°, start a fire and keep the vents closed enough that it promoted a slightly dying fire so that the fan could supply the power when needed to maintain temps and essentially walk away for an entire day. The graph of the cook showed a nice flat line, signal stayed strong thanks to wifi connectivity, the features of the app were easy to use, I especially liked to see the "lid detection" which is nice when you have to open the dome to spritz every so often, it allows the fan to turn off instead of powering up in a futile attempt to bring the falling temperature back to your set point, you can program the lid mode for any period of time (I just watched to see when the natural heat of the dome brought the temp back up to 225° and then set that time) this prevents you from overshooting your temp with the fan. Excellent product, solid construction, easy to use even for someone who hadn't used fan controllers or wired monitors in the past. Thanks Fireboard!”
