Wow. That could be my whole review, but I'll explain more. This sauce greats you with a wonderful color and aroma. The peppercorn is abundant and the first flavor to take over your senses. Then the ginger and garlic come out to play a tiny bit, the perfect bit. Then, after a lull in the flavor explosion, the heat hits you. It seems to target the tongue with a purpose, and lingers there for some time. But, that flavor explosion that made you fall in love just moments before, sends you going back for more. This sauce is easily one of the best I've ever had. With very respectable heat at that.

Very unique flavor. The Sichuan / prickly ash is only just there, so if you are really into "ma-la" or Chengdu style hot sauces with a lot of numbing Sichuan peppercorns, you might be disappointed. The heat is definitely there - would buy again!

Such a unique taste profile! I expected something different than your typically hot sauce but never thought it would be this good. The combo of heat and taste are through the roof and will on the reorder list very soon.

Good dab of pepper there, spicier than expected. A bit thick sauce with a slight too much oil even after shaking it to get it to be consistent. But delicious nevertheless, had it with fried chicken!

Air fried oyster mushrooms and this sauce will have you on cloud 9.

Great flavor. Excellent spice can put more than a few dabs. Add it too Thai food and Chinese.

I love my hot sauce. I'm not a super spice head, but I'd like to think I can handle my spice. This sauce isn't super duper hot (which I like, although I don't think it should be alongside the superhots), but it's anything but "floral, complex and full-bodied." I've given this sauce several tries, but at least in my batch (which wasn't the fateful Sept. 26 one) the olive oil used was so rancid that the whole thing tastes like detergent to me. Maybe others wouldn't notice it, as I've always had a nose for this sort of stuff, but it absolutely is rancid. I kind of figured buying something with olive oil as a main ingredient was a bad idea, since people tend to use bad oil or not know what rancid tastes like, but I took the leap and sadly I was right. I've emailed Heatonist about it, and hopefully they make things right. I really wanted to like this one.
