One of the worst hot sauces I have ever tried. The oil mutes the heat... Until later.

Oh my! The oil does create more of a delayed effect with the heat, it's true, but we're sorry to hear it's not to your taste. Have you tried it on tacos or in a marinade yet? When you treat it like a salsa macha or use it to marinade grilled food it really shines!

Got this baby in my last box, it’s great as a prequal for steak, chicken, pork before the dry rub. Gives a nice layer to everything, great as a sauce too. I’ve actually been adding this religiously to my Mac and cheese.

When I first got this, i was a little bothered because it wasn't touted as an Oil sauce on the show. Needed a GOOOOD shaking up but WOW!!! This is my new favorite. I was surprised to see that pepper is the last ingredient because it tastes like it should be higher up on the ingredients list. I'm back to buy 3 more...I never want to be without this. I use it on my cottage cheese (don't be grossed out :-) and it makes something so bland become an experience.

True it is an oil based sauce, of you are okay with that it’s tremendous. Smoky spicy and complex. I read the negative reviews and it seems they don’t like oil. I use this on pizza, hotdogs, Mac and cheese, as the oil part in salad dressing, you make it.

Add this smokey goodness to Chinese food or seafood for a bit of heat and flavor kick.

This Smoky peppery sauce has the perfect infusion of garlic. I use this on almost everything that I make. It is especially good on eggs and with chicken!

Flavor - Hot Oil! Omg I freaked out when I first tried this, as a big fan of hot garlic oils I instantly fell in love with the heavy smoke in this. Heat - Subtle, but it can creep and build up too. 4/10 confirmed. Consistency - Oil based, must shake before use, be cautious while pouring as it is still very runny after being mixed up. Overall Thoughts - This is an amazing Hot Oil Sauce and that is how it should be advertised. Can't wait to test this on more dishes! Why are you still reading reviews, go get you some!

Of the 42 sauces we’ve tried in the past 12 months, this unfortunately has been one of the worst. We gave it three tries, but we couldn’t get past the separation of ingredients and grossly over roasted (read burnt) flavors. Ultimately most of the bottle ended up in the garbage.

So sorry to hear this wasn't for you! Totally hear that the oil based sauce can be tricky as you do have to shake it a bunch. This one was definitely supposed to be like a smoky chili oil and we like the smoky notes the Manzano chiles bring, but understand it's not for everyone! Thanks for giving it a try!
