“It's still my favorite sauce available here but this is not the version of Assam I ordered dozens of bottles of from 2017-2020. They changed something about the recipe around 2021; It's now much sharper and not as flavorful as it used to be. Still a good sauce, though, and the only one I order on this site with regularity.”

“eh i dont know.. i got this because of the great reviews.. i like curry.. so I got it for that flavor..and so when you taste this sauce you truly do taste the curry...but for me there is something off about it. there's this acidic taste to it that hits you first then you get the curry.. so I was not a fan of that, I tried with several meals and it was just too much of it.”

“First and foremost, this is an absolutely delicious Indian curry-style sauce. I was blown away by how well it captures the pertinent flavors of this style of Northern Indian cuisine - which may be a bit reductive as a generalization of the foods of the region, but in the same vein, I wouldn't argue with the typical casting of Old Bay (or J.O.) as a representative of coastal Maryland seafood. At the same time, while this sauce is amazing for any application where you want the taste of Indian food, that's really the only game it plays; this is a delicious sauce, but not a versatile one. Acknowledging that, I still give it 5 stars because it is that good. As for heat, I'd give it maybe 5/10, and would have expected higher given the 7-pot primos.”
