“It’s kickass, its probably more of a smokey heat than hot, great on everything(especially pork)… You’ll quickly find yourself scraping the plate to get all of it”

“I know that this sauce is discontinued, but I absolutely love it! It is not that spicy (we are usually fans of spicier sauces), but it adds a depth of flavor to anything you make! From sushi to Jamaican jerk chicken, this hot sauce is the perfect accompaniment to most foods! Amazing depth of flavor. If this ever comes back, I'm getting an entire box of this.”

“I'm having the same problem as the last few reviewers. Unique and refreshing flavor, but almost no heat, like basically none at all. I am by no means experienced with hot sauces, so I was hoping this one would be the upper end of my collection heat-wise, but Secret Aardvark packs more heat than my bottle of this does. Maybe there was an issue with a recent batch? Disappointed.”

“I was actually really excited to taste a plum/ghost pepper mixture. But this is really disappointing. It does tastes really damn good but there is ZERO heat in this one, not even a tinge. I feel like Heatonist let me down in the description of this, especially considering the price. It's basically a plum coulis”

“As someone who has downed a lot of spicy food over the year, this is a very, VERY delicious hot sauce! I absolutely love the flavor. The hints of fruit/citrus give it a nice zing, and the charcoal gives it a very unique flavor. I would highly recommend using this on many types of foods, especially chicken! The only reason I'm giving this four tar instead of five is because the sauce i a bit...misleading? I was honestly expecting this to be hotter than Queen Majesty's Red Habenero and Black Coffee, but it was actually very mild. Which was a slight disappointment because I was hoping for that heat. I think I read somewhere actually that drinking activated charcoal with water can be used to treat capsaicin poisoning, or something to that effect? If that is the case, perhaps the charcoal is neutralizing the heat the sauce would normally have. I don't know this for certain, but I believe it is something worth considering, at least, too figure out why this sauce i milder than expected. Don't get me wrong! It's delicious nonetheless. But when it says it's very hot on the bottle and it tastes mild, that's the one thing keeping me from giving it a perfect 5/5.”
