It's actually pretty tasty but I'd call it an acquired one. It's very plum/sweet onion-forward with a small amount of heat coming in later. I'd honestly call it more of a 2 or 3/5 for heat but it's got unique and savory qualities that make it a nice, bright twist on food.

I've never had a hot sauce like this before! The charcoal makes it jet black (much darker than the pictures show) yet it tastes like sweet plums. This is the type of sauce I would put on a salad or maybe turkey breast since it has such a light, refreshing flavor. However, it's uses seem very limited to me. For one, it is NOT that spicy. Additionally, it doesn't pair well with many things. If you want to get a gift for someone who is not accustomed to the ultra hot sauces out there, this is a great option. If you just want to add something to your hot sauce collection that truly stands out as unique, this is a great option. But if you want an every-day, every-meal style hot sauce, stick with Secret Aardvark or Humble House.

The taste of the sauce is nice, smokey but really mild. The heat is pretty much non-existent unfortunately. I don't see how this is 5/10 HEAT?

Was looking forward to trying this, but just wasn't that good. Minimal flavor beyond the vinegar, honestly not very hot at all. I thought the ghost peppers would bring more, but it's surprisingly tame. I flew threw Los Calientes within a few weeks. May not even go back to this one - just not that good!

This sauce packs a punch & comes out fairly thick but with good flavor. It has a strange black look that you probably wouldn't think of putting on food however. Although it isn't the best looking sauce (it has charcoal in it). I'd recommend giving this a try.

Not as hot as I was hoping for and too vinegary for my taste.

intrinsically good with somewhat sour citrus flavor; however, the range of foods with which it can used is quite limited.
