Very very lightweight board.Too lightweight...no feeling of quality. Not sure what the main structure is made from but I was hoping for something much more substantial. The pieces themselves feel somewhat flimsy.Altogether a big disappointment

Fabulous! I was a bit worried after reading some recent reviews so had to check all pieces on arrival before rewrapping it, as it will be a gift. No problems found. I think the handmade nature of the set gives it lots of character. I think its lovely to be able to buy an item like this in this day and age but perhaps some people dont appreciate a hand crafted aesthetic.

Its a great chess set, however once you start playing the lack of 2 queens for promotion can be quite annoying, often find myself underpromoting to a rook just for easiness of play, quality is acceptale also but could be better

Good size. Pieces and board nicely made. Hinges are not recessed so the board does not sit flat. This is dissapointing.

Overall, for the price its a good chess set, however, there are multiple minor flaws such as some pieces being chipped and also a noticeable misalignment with the two sides of the board once folded open. I would recommend the set for someone trying to buy their first beginner set, but other than that the quality isnt out of this world.
