“This was bought as a gift for my 14 year old sons birthday. So the comments are what he has told me. He rates it 4 stars as he says the pieces feel a bit small. The overall quality however, he says is excellent and he is very happy that he now owns a lovely chess set that he will no doubt spend many happy hours using trying to beat his grandad at a match!”

“I bought this chess set as a Christmas present for a nephew aged seven who has just taken up chess with great enthusiasm. I chose this particular set because, as a former player, I have always admired the Staunton pattern especially as reproduced by Jaques. Because it is to be a present I have not opened the packaging but, based on the photograph on the Amazon website, I have no doubt that it will be much appreciated, not least because it can be readily transported from home to school and back.”
