“I was looking for purchasing good chess that would make you feel you hold a heavy wooden piece in your hand. Instead pieces are super light, do not stand straight, and feels like being done from a cheap plastic I would recommend to search for some other sets”
“Fantastic product. Amazing quality for the price. This is a lovely starter or travel chess set. I bought it for my Daughter, to teach her chess, so didnt want to pay a lot of money, in case she didnt like it. For the money the set is very well made and detailed well enough to make out the pieces easily. The board it well made as well and has nice features like magnets to hold it together when closed. Only thing I would like to see are some drawstring bags to hold the pieces in when closed. That would be a nice touch but I bought some from Amazon for a couple of pounds! Would highly recommend.”
“Set arrived promptly and beautifully packaged. Bought as a travel set and will be useful for that. Very disappointed to see a clumsy repair on the board which spoils what should have been a lovely set. Not what I expected but these sets are made in you know where and finished here in the uk. By finishing perhaps that was the bow tying? Anyway its ok functional and you get what you pay for.”
“The chess and draughts pieces are excellent and Im sure they will get years of use when at home or on holiday. The board is also of very good quality. My only concern and the reason for my 4 star review is the hinges which sit proud of the bottom surface. This is not a major problem and can easily be overcome with a towel or magazine underneath. Im just glad that we noticed this before placing the board directly into our dining room table and possibly leaving it with small scratches.”
“I bought this for my boyfriend and it did not dissapoint. Beautifully made, the packaging through to each individual piece are so well crafted and put together. A really charming set. Ive seen criticism over the fact that the board itself doesnt have a catch to keep it together but if you choose to keep it in its beautifully designed packaging I cant see it being an issue.”
“Well, I wasnt expecting such a beautiful crafted chess board! I bought it for my daughter, she played chess at school and enjoyed it so thought Id go for this set as its fold away, didnt look too big and wasnt plastic, well it arrived and we were both wowed by the packaging alone, I cant get over how lovely this set it! Well made and the quality is stunning, my daughter said that it felt very personal, I would highly recommend their products if this is what you get for 15! I am tempted to purchase their more expensive products!”
