The product is good, however the strip inside the board to keep the pieces held in place came broken.

I was initially concerned about all the negative points on reviews, but though I would chance it, and i can say Im glad i did.The chess set is an 11 inch board which is more than large enough to teach my 8 year old how to play chess. The package was presented well with a nice card saying who packaged the chess set. The board and chess pieces are presented, feel and look great. Really good quality wooden pieces. The board folds in half and keeps shut by hidden magnetics inside the frame.Im looking forward to spending many hours playing chess. Finally I have to say wood is better than plastic.

A little disappointed with this product, small board and pieces. Board light poor quality wood and not well finished. Pieces are small and Im concernednervous of losing any as they may be a choking hazzard to our infant. Its a travel set and functional although the board does not sit flat when open but in my opinion over priced. I had higher expectations given marketing.

I ordered this on Sunday and it arrived on Wednesday. It is stunning. and the picture does not do it justice. The beautiful hand carved wooden pieces are so tactile and attached to the inside of the board with elastic, so they wont fall out The board itself is beautiful and it was magnificently hand wrapped by Lisa thank you Lisa if I could give this 20 out if 10 I happily would.

Going by individual requirement sold as seen very good value for money. Helps chess beginners in having a summary of the rules and the individual movements of each chessman. Any queries or issues with the seller are dealt with promptly and respectably making it a positive buying experience.

Reasonable price. Craftsmanship a bit haphazard varnish not especially well applied and just a bit sloppy but its OK for the price

Bought this chess set for our kids who had been playing on what looked like a cardboard sheet wrapped in clingfilm bought from the school fayre a few years back for 99p. This set the new one is a massive upgrade. Its really nice wooden board and peices. Seriously, for the money I doubt you could get better and in a quaint home counties artisan gift shop youd probably pay double for similar. Very impressed obviously.
