“Over all it was a nice set, well presented , I was a little disappointed that one of the white pieces one of the Rooks was quite a different colour from the other white pieces I will be asking if a replacement can be sent.”
“A piece of Art . Well finished pieces and board. Numbering are not there, which is not a problem. It is heavy to travel with. However size is convenient for travelling. I think it is too expensive to pack it in a suitcase. For home use, i would rather buy a larger size.”
“I loved its presentation but was not too taken by the form of the Knights,. I do think it is a lovely present, and the basic rule sheet is great. I shall purchase presents from Jacques again.”
“This is a great starter chess set for my 11 year old son. Its beautifully made, with nice looking pieces and just the right size. He loves it and so much nicer than playing on a computer.”
“I bought this for my five years old daughter as a gift coz she is learning to play chess at her school club. The quality is not as good as I expected such as there is a chip damage on the board and also there is missing corner on of of the castle. Also there is not anything to make the box secure who it is been closed. I wish I could return it but I have already opened up. Kind of disappointed and definitely not worth the money. Cant believe that they have made chess for more than 100 years.”
“The chess set was packaged very nicely including a note detailing the person who put it together! On my set there are a two discoloured white squares which basically brown and the two sides of the board and properly square to each other. The elastic used to hold the pieces in place when not in use is quite fiddly when youre putting the final few away. The materials feel very cheap and flimsy and I wouldnt rate its chances if dropped from more than a foot or two.Other than that its a perfectly useable chess board.”
