“At first I wrote a poor product review, I contacted jaques direct and assured me this is not their usual standard. They were true to their word and replaced it free of charge. The finish far surpassed the previous set and cannot be beaten at this price. Would make a really nice gift. Beautifully presented, great chess set even greater customer service. Cant speak highly enough of this company.”
“Not expensive but I wouldnt expect it to be faulty. Some pieces were chipped or wouldnt stand due to a pin sticking out. The hinge screw had broken the outer edge see photo. Will be returning.”
“ProsBoard looks great and fairly well made. Pieces are stored under the board nicely. Comes in a great little box and feels like a proper gift from an old toy shop.Cons my particular board does not fold down 100 flat, but it is only slightly off. There is a little discolouration on a small bit of the edge, but this could be the wood pieces are not weighted, but youd be kidding yourself to expect some weighted pieces that are not made of horrid plastic or from a much more expensive set.Would absolutely buy this board again and give it as a gift”
“Over all it was a nice set, well presented , I was a little disappointed that one of the white pieces one of the Rooks was quite a different colour from the other white pieces I will be asking if a replacement can be sent.”
“A piece of Art . Well finished pieces and board. Numbering are not there, which is not a problem.It is heavy to travel with. However size is convenient for travelling. I think it is too expensive to pack it in a suitcase. For home use, i would rather buy a larger size.”
