“Well presented in its fold out board. Some slight faults on the edges of the squares but it is hand made after all. Its a gift for our 6 year old grandson. Hell love it!”

I was honestly amazed when it came, the way each board is beautifully wrapped by hand with a signed card. I loved the history of the Jaques company on the printed wrapping paper. The board itself is well crafted and made, the pieces are clear and distinguishable with no rough edges. I would highly recommend this product. Me and my daughter cant wait to learn.”
“At first I wrote a poor product review, I contacted jaques direct and assured me this is not their usual standard. They were true to their word and replaced it free of charge. The finish far surpassed the previous set and cannot be beaten at this price. Would make a really nice gift. Beautifully presented, great chess set even greater customer service. “Not expensive but I wouldnt expect it to be faulty. Some pieces were chipped or wouldnt stand due to a pin sticking out. The hinge screw had broken the outer edge see photo. Will be returning.”
“ProsBoard looks great and fairly well made. Pieces are stored under the board nicely. Comes in a great little box and feels like a proper gift from an old toy shop.Cons my particular board does not fold down 100 flat, but it is only slightly off. There is a little discolouration on a small bit of the edge, but this could be the wood pieces are not weighted, but youd be kidding yourself to expect some weighted pieces that are not made of horrid plastic or from a much more expensive set.Would absolutely buy this board again and give it as a gift”
