The set is very well presented and comes nicely wrapped. Unfortunately its made of very light weight wood and does not feel substantial at all. Not great to play chess with. The board folds in half but the squares do not line up perfectly which makes it feel a bit cheap. The service was excellent and my refund was processed promptly.

Product is ok but Chess pieces not finished properly and were rough. Chess board is hinged and one side was high making a groove so you cannot slide across the board.

I bought this chessboard hoping to get something nice with good craftsmanship. Upon looking at the other reviews I thought this might be the one. I was quite excited when the board arrived, the packaging mirrored my expectation and I had high hopes for what was inside. When I opened the box, I found inside a very flimsy, poorly assembled chess set. The way the glue was applied to the material inside was not great. The pieces were even worse. I had some pieces from a set I bought from poundland which I compared them to and the ones from poundland were, astonishingly, a lot better quality. Generally dont leave negative feedback, Im the kind of person who would not leave a comment than leave a bad one. But after a few emails asking to leave my honest opinion, here it is. Im overall disappointed but I guess its fit for purpose.

Overall good quality chess set with my only negative being that the pieces have no weight to them at all.

This is one of those lifetime buys. Its very tactile to play with. It looks tactile and crafted rather than manufactured. My only gripe is that the squares on the board either side of the hinges dont quite align. They are about 3mm out in places.A nice matching storage box would be great for the pieces. The elastic racking at the rear is a bit tiresome.Over all though I love it!
