About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. “I bought one of these two years ago for my grand daughters and they have had hours of fun with it. They are still to young to play a proper game, but just seem to love it all the same. It was a game I loved as a child. I've now bought a second one for a God son. Thoroughly recommend it.”

“Not gifted this yet but have put away for xmas….I have a large list. It looks great and I am sure the recipient will love it it. However, it was from the Montessori section but doesn’t state it is Montessori which is disappointing. I don’t want the parent to think I purchased from a market stall without any thought.”

“This game is great as you can make endless games of your own. My 4 year old loves it! The game is well made, it is a little annoying the pieces have to face the right way but it is good quality.”

“I volunteer at a local attraction Shipley Glen Tramway a funicular tram which is 131 years old. The magnetic fishing game & other traditional games bought from Jaques are used in the information centre and are loved by children & adults who visit & join in our activities.”
